I worked at Wal-Mart for five and a half years before moving on to a better job. I work in the kitchen at a hospital. One of my jobs is to take the patients their food trays, which I really love doing. Well, a few nights ago I was in a very cheerful, upbeat mood, and it showed. I delivered the one man's dinner to him and told him, quite happily to "Have a nice day." He just sort of looked at me, laughed and said he'd try, but he was in the hospital. I could have bitten my tongue off. People who are staying there for any reason except having a baby aren't normally going to have nice days.

LOL
Personally I love it when people tell me to have a nice day. I dont mind where the setting is, it's just nice when people cheerily send you off with a "have a nice day now! :D"
Nothing wrong with that :)

You meant well. That has to count for something.
It sounds like he took it well, and you made him laugh. That's good medicine.

It always is, except for collapsed lungs and cracked ribs.
