I once had a customer call because his pay per view wasn't coming in. I had him reboot the box and then turn to the channel in question. I knew rebooting worked because he had the TV turned up to full volume:

Customer: We all know what that sound is!

I was new at the time, and didn't say what I'd say now that I really don't care anymore: "A sound you'll never hear in real life?"
