I had a bit of a discussion over on Fratching, and this idea was brought back to mind. I'd been mulling it over for a while, but it got lost in the mists of ... well, it got lost. Let's leave it at that.
The idea is that we work with customers. There are ways to diffuse situations, there are ways to sell so that the customer is left happy with their purchase and wants to return, and there are ways to increase tips. Other aspects of work have other problems, such a workplace politics and the like. Interview skills - you can do the job, but suck when it comes to being interviewed. Are you certain you know what to look for when interviewing for new hires?
How do you deal with all of this?
That's what this section is for. If you have advice, proffer it. If you need advice on a situation, ask.
This is not training to make you into a better employer for your company. It's to make life easier/more profitable/safer for you. The companies the majority of our members work for will drop you in the blink of a balance sheet, sometimes even if you are the best employee on their books. Make sure to minimise the risks and to increase your chances of decent financial reparation - go for it!
