I was just on the phone with my tattoo artist (going back under the needle this week -- YAY!!!) and was reading this forum and just thinking -- who around here has markings, whether they be permanent (tattoos, ect), temporary (piercings) or natural (birthmarks, scars, ect)?

I have piercings (two holes in each ear -- used to be four in each and one cuff at the top, but the one at the top and two in each ear have closed up). I also used to have a navel bar, but it closed up when I took it out cause I was pregnant with my little boy. I want to get it done again and get my nose pierced as well.

I also have (at the moment) what I consider to be five tattoos. Four on my back that make kind of a box (which is why I say what I consider to be five, some people think that one is just one) and one on my foot. I'll be getting a whole lot more. All of mine are for me, not everyone else, so I don't care if people see them or not. In all honestly, most people don't realize I have them for months after I've met them until they happen to see one. The ones on my back are: "Not all who wander are lost" in gaelic at the top (between the shoulder blades at the top); Rogue's name from the Taiwan X-Men comics on my right shoulder blade; "May the stars watch over you" in the old language (the Inheritance series) along the bottom (between my shoulder blades at the bottom); and Ginny Weasley's name from the Taiwan Harry Potter books on my left shoulder blade. I also have a heart that my daughter drew on my last V-day card on my left foot (let me tell you, that was the most painful one). I love my tattoos and don't regret them at all, never will. I'll post pictures if anyone wants me to. :p

I also have birthmarks and scars, but nothing extremely cool (though I do have a birthmark on my forehead that is how my mother used to gauge whether I was actually sick. You can't usually see it, but when I get sick or REALLY mad, it starts to turn red or purpleish).

So, what markings do you have and / or want? And if they aren't natural ones, why'd you do it and do you regret it?

I have a faint birthmark on the back of my right hand, it looks kind of like a paint splatter.

Both ears are triple pierced with an addition of a cuff on the right ear.
I have three Tat's . . .
first one is a heart on my left inner ankle
second celtic knot work shamrock/ tree of life looking on my back (yup I am over 30 and have a tramp stamp - the shock of it all)
third inner right ankle - dogs actual paw print took her paw put it on an ink pad, had her walk on paper, took paper in, we picked the best paw, they put it on their machine that makes the copy transfers and away he went . . .. took less than 10 min all shade work - didn't outline first.

at the moment I don't have any others in the plans . . .if I ever meet the right person, have kids, more pets - who knows.

I do feel strongly that the only names a person should have written on them . . .are blood realtives, pets, or in loving memory of . . .but that is just my opinion.

Most of my markings/holes are factory issue. Earlobes, one piercing in the left one and two in the right one. No tattoos. Worst scar (and when I say "worst" that's relative. I don't really scar much at all) is on my right shin, where I peeled back the skin in college fooling around in the theater scene shop doing stuff I wasn't supposed to be doing. Not that noticable unless I have a tan. Two small surgery scars on right knee (unrelated to the shin) that are actually going away. Two small surgery scars on my belly that are also going away (like I said, scars fade on me). Small scar in right palm from barbed wire when I was 6.

I have various moles and small, not noticable birthmarks. The biggest of which is a birthmark on my left arm that looks frighteningly like a melanoma, but it isn't. It's just a very dark birthmark. A dermatolist actually scooped it out and biopsied it, just in case. He was far more worried than I was about. It not only didn't scar, but it grew back.

That's pretty much it. I'm boring.

No piercings, but I want to get my ears pierced. No tattoos, but I plan on getting a four leaf clover tattoo one day. My whole body is covered in scars. If it's not scars from needls pricks, then it's scars from old IV line sites. The worst scar is this big, slash cut horizontally across my belly. It's almost a foot long and it divides my stomach area in half. This came from a life-saving surgery when I was only a couple hours old. And then there's one from when I had my appendix taken out about the same time as the life-saving surgery.

I have a tattoo on my upper left arm. It's a heart that says "mom". I'd like to get the letters thickened a lil bit. A lot of people look at it and ask who Noel is.

When my grandfather goes, I want to get something for him, but my mom really didn't even want me to get my first tattoo.

I used to have a huge scar on my left elbow from football. I took a helmet to the elbow and it took awhile to stop bleeding. Unfortunately, that was in the beginning of the week. I had a huge scab there, and EVERY day that week, the scab got ripped off and I bled like hell. It's scarred now, but it's slowly starting to fade.

Have a scar on my right knee from when I fell onto a metal tent post (One of those party ones).

Have a very very faint burn scar on my right arm from burning myself on the oven while making a cake.

Have a longer but still faint scar above the burn scar from when I rolled over on a go-kart this past September.

I currently have 8 piercings and 3 tattoos, and much to my mother's chagrin, I don't believe I'm finished quite yet. :)

I have my ear lobes pierced 3 times each, and the 3rd piercing in each lobe are my most recent additions. I also have my navel pierced, as well as my tragus (the cartilage in my left ear), which is my favorite piercing, though it hurt like you wouldn't believe and took a while to heal.

I have a tattoo on my lower back of a fairy in a bottle that I designed myself, which I would like to add too, I also have a dragonfly on the top of my left foot (my graduation present to myself) and a kodoma (Princess Mononoake - forest spirit/good luck type thing) on my right inner ankle. I'd like to get a yellow rose tattooed somewhere on my person (for my grandma) and a few more things I've been thinking on for a while....we shall see, in time.

I have many scars, my favorites are the one in the center of my forehead (ran into a wall at 2yo, nearly gave my 8mo pregnant mother a heart attack) and the one in the corner of my left eye, where I ran into a dresser and nearly blinded myself.

No tattoos but I have three piercings in my left upper ear, one in my right upper ear and three in each lobe.

I also have self harm scars on my arms and ankles; I am not emo so please don't accuse me of this, I used to have a genuine problem way back which I have now conquered. There's also scars on my right foot where I tore it open in a motorbike accident plus a huge lump of extra bone on the back of my right hand from a different motorbike accident.

Tattoos: None

Birthmarks: dark splotch on the back of my left hand, dark splotch on chest above right nipple once described as a third nipple???

Scars: Too numerous to mention all of them as I have done way too many bonehead things when working on cars, woodworking and just being a clutz. I have a 2 inch scar on my right arm from being slashed when I was playing football in high school. (Dude didn't take to kindly of me putting him on his butt all game) The only other scar of note is a small hole in my upper right leg (more of a dent now) from where a buddy shot me with a BB at point blank range when we were 12. It went in about ¼ inch and my grandmother pulled it out with a pair of tweezers after "anesthetizing" the area with an ice cube. :)

Birthmarks: None. However, I do have a "birth defect": any of you that have seen pictures of me (and the two of you that have met me) may have noticed that I look rather sleepy. My eyelids are permanently at half mast or worse, and this gives me kind of a stoned look. While my father had a vaguely similar look, mine is more pronounced, and very very pronounced when I am tired, drunk or (very rarely) actually stoned. According to my mom, this was a birth defect that the doctors said they could fix with surgery. My mother turned them down. I enjoy my somewhat unique look, frankly, though I got tired of having people asked me if I was stoned long before I even knew what that meant!

Piercings: None. As I have said numerous times, I have been pierced enough times unintentionally as a result of bicycle crashes that I have zero desire to do it intentionally. That, and I am just not a huge fan of jewelery. Don't wear any currently, and can't remember the last time I did. Maybe a watch in tenth grade?

Tattoos: None. Don't really have a desire to get one. However, I have given some time (several years) thought to what I would get done if I ever did get a tattoo. I have come up with three I might get if I ever bothered. 1. Sparky the Sun Devil, the logo/mascot of Arizona State University, my alma mater. Three high schools, one college. I am very loyal to my school. However, if I ever did get Sparky, it would be in Phoenix--I don't doubt that a lot of artists here are very talented, but I would want an artist who was very familiar with the logo to do it. 2. The Oakland Raiders shield logo. I am a fan. What can I say? 3. The Gemini symbol from the Zodiac, which looks very much like a Roman numeral 2 (and yes, I AM a Gemini, damn it!):
http://members.aol.com/maattexts/aquabible/Gemini26pt.gif
If I got any of these--again, not likely, but if I did--they would end up on one of my shoulders. I just don't see myself putting tattoos anywhere else.

Scars: Good lord. Where do I start? Virtually all of my scars are well-hidden or faded....but the ones that are there if you look are:

--one in my eyebrow from when I got sucker-punched years ago by some dude with a ring when we were all drunk. Imagine that...a mouthy shit like me getting sucker punched. Who woulda thunk it?

--one on my chin from when I used my chin as a brake when I was 16 and crashed my bicycle, shattering my jaw. One of the bonuses of having my goatee is the scar is pretty much hidden. Hell, even when I am cleanshaven you have to really look for it. The only time it really jumps out is when I am cleanshaven but have a day or two worth of growth.

--one on my lower back that looks like a darkened circle. This one is a lesson to me, and should be to others, to never get in a fight with a college hockey player, even if they are smaller than you, and especially if you are drunk, they are not, and they are trying to help you out. Hockey players are badasses, I don't care how big they are...or aren't.

--a very minor one on the back of my left hand from when I scraped the skin off at work once several years ago.

--another very minor one on my upper lip from when I drunkenly rode my bicycle into a parked car years ago and smashed my face. Once again, my goatee hides it pretty well.

Oddly, two scars that I've had for years, once since I was in grade school, I can't find....even though I know exactly where they should be. Very odd.

I have one birth mark. It's coffee colored and at the crook of my right elbow.

I also have a black head near my right shoulder blade that looks like a birth mark. My Memo (my mother's mother) had the exact same thing in the exact same place. it doesn't bother me, but if I'm wearing a dress or shirt that's low cut in the back, you'll see it.

I have one piercing each in my ears. I got my ears pierced when I was 17. It was then that I found out I'm allergic to nickel. *le sigh* That was a fun time ... .NOT.

The only scar I have is from my c-section.

The usual two piercings in the ears.
A scar near my collar bone when we tried to vaccum the cat. Some freckles.
A blueish spot that has been in my upper thigh since I stabbed myself with a pencil over a deade ago.
Burn scars near my right elbow when I tried to get something out of the oven twice within a week (same location, I was wearing oven mitts both times)

I'll start at my head and work my way down:

I have a scar on my scalp that's about an inch long. I got it when I was two years old, and some family friends dared my to run across a swingset...while they were swinging on it. This happened right after my family arrived at their house. Mom was still getting my baby sister out of the car when we needed to take me to the hospital. :o

I have moles all over my body, but the most prominent is one in the middle of my neck on the back side, right at about the third vertebrae.

I have a tattoo of a maple leaf and mountain scene on my left upper arm, at the shoulder. It's about 4 inches by 4 inches. *Attachment #1*

Going down the arms, I have a scar on my left elbow (fell on a heating grate when I was about 4) and a small one on my right wrist. (buggered if I know where that one came from)

I have a scar on the small of my back, but I din't know how I got that.

On my left thigh, I have a tattoo of Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2, *attachment #2* and on my right thigh, I have a picture of Rikku from the same source. *attachment #3* Yes, I know I'm a nerd for having a video game tattoo. No, I don't care what other people think. Yes, there's more to the story. Yes, they cost a lot of money and took a lot of time. Yes I want to get more. No, I don't regret doing it. :p I haven't measured them, but I'd guess they're about 14 inches long and 6-8 inches wide. By the way, I could have SWORN I have pictures of them after I got the colour put it, but I guess I don't. Sorry, but you'll just have to see them in the black-and-white stages. I don't like Yuna in black and white, but sh'e looking alot better in colour. I think Rikku looks awesome, in both bolour and B&W.

And that's about it, I think. I plan on getting many more markings, but later, when I can afford them.

I have both earlobes pierced twice, a ring in my right upper ear, and an industrial piercing in my left ear. I also have my tongue pierced. I used to have my left eyebrow pierced but after a three year struggle due to excema I took it out.

Only one tattoo so far - a celtic square-shaped knot between my shoulder blades. However, I do plan on getting more when I can afford it.

I have several scars but only three that ever get commented on - one on the top of my right hand, one about 4-5 inches up from that one on my right arm, and a 3 inch long one that starts at where my right palm meets my arm and goes in a straight line. I commonly get asked if I tried to off myself, but it's due to surgery to fix a compound fracture. All three scars are - the two on the top of my arm are from the pins that held the external fixator bar in place, and the other one is from where I was opened up to have a plate attached to what was left of my radius once the bone chips were removed. My other noticable scars are two from having pre-cancerous moles removed, and one one my right foot from getting it caught in bicycle spokes with I was really little.

Yuna and Rikku? Awesome choices Spiffy. Rikku is pretty darn hot for a video game character. They both came out pretty well.

I only have my ears pierced. I used to have 2 holes in each but the second set closed up because I stopped wearing earrings in them. (I got the first when I was 11 and my mom took me to the jewelry store without telling me why until we got there, and the 2nd when I was 12 on a school trip to Toronto.) Even the ones I still have, when I try to put earrings in them it hurts. Every once in a while I will go through a period of wearing small studs to keep that from happening, but then I will eventually take them out for whatever reason and then not wear them again for a while.

No tattoos.

Scars:
A chicken pox scar on my right thigh. It is actually numb, at least the top layers of it. If I scratch it lightly with my nail I can't feel it, but if I press down I can.

A little round white spot on my left elbow from some skin thing I had removed when I was 12.

A weird shaped spot on the back of my right arm where I had a little bluish-black spot removed a few years ago. I had 3 stitches so it kinda looks like an oblong with 3 lines across it.

A small white line on my right middle finger from a stubborn cat food can. I probably should have gotten stitches but I didn't.

And a white line on the side of my nose, right where it meets my face, that I've had for as long as I can remember and no one knows how I got it.

And I have a spot or 3 that I want to get checked out so there is a possibility I will have some more to add to the mix.

I've got a couple of dents in my shins from slipping and whacking them but good, a scar on my right elbow from a piece of hay, and a tattoo of three cherry blossoms on my right should blade that I got about five hours ago. No pics yet, but it's gorgeous.

I have no piercings or tattoos because I'm a wuss. :D

However, I have a strange and large freckle formation near my elbow. It's shaped like a question mark and has been there since I was five. When I was little, I thought God didn't know who I was so he stamped me with a question mark...yeah, that's weird, but I was only five.

I have a scar between my eyes that's about half an inch long and crescent shaped. It's where my dad tried to shut the trunk door of his car on me. Nearly knocked me out (lost consciousness, it seemed like, for an instant), swelled nicely, and left a scar.

I'm also the bearer of many chicken pox scars. My parents told me that the doctors said I had the worse case of chicken pox they had ever seen. When I get cold, you can seem them better because they sort of "pop" out. They are little white dots covering my body, most prominently on my hands and arms.

I have a tiny little brown birthmark on the underside of my left hand. I have no tattoo's, but I am going to get some. One will be of a cross on the ring finger of the Right hand. Another one will be my astro sign(which is Taurus) on one of my other fingers.

Hmmm ok

Piercings:

I have two in each ear. Used to have one in my nose, but it started bugging the hell out of me so I took it out.

Tattoos:

I have two on my spine, just below my neck - the chinese symbols for Dragon and Courage

Scars:

Where do I start??
Ok, on my left hand below my thumb, I have a scar from I don't know what.
On my inner left forearm I have a cigarette burn scar (don't ask)
On my left collar bone, I have a scar from having a mole removed.
On my right hand below my thumb, I have a burn scar from baking
On my wrist, I have a scar from scraping my arm while trying to do a tumble turn while swimming (oy!)
On my right shoulder, a scar from having a mole removed.
On my right back, a scar from having a mole removed
On my lower right back, another mole scare
On my left hip, a mole scar
On my right shin, above my ankle, a scar from falling on a brick (still so sensation in it 15 years later)
On my left calf, a scar from an allergic reaction to some kind of bite
On my belly - one scar from mole removal, two scars that look like cigarette burns, but are actually from a spider bite.
Oh my face:
Lower left corner of my mouth - small scar from mole removal
Just below my left eye - small scar from falling in the bath as a kiddiewink.

That's about it...

I"m in a hurry, so sorry if this sound rushed...

Piercings: Five holes in my left ear, one in the right. My tongue.

Tattoo: 3
Right forearm is a purple and green tribal butterfly, on my left forearm is Elmo holding a frog, and on my back just under my neck is a 9 pointed alchemy star. Points to you if you know where it came from!

(If you wanna see pics, go visit my myspace. Hell, even drop me a line. www.myspace.com/jadetalian or my user name is JjAaNdEeT. Forgive whatever you may see, lol.)

Scars: Too many small ones to mention right now.

I forgot to mention my scar from a Green Bean on my left hand ring finger.
Basically I was transfering green beans from the pot to the serving dish and one landed on my finger.
The next day I got stung by a bee on the same finger near the burn. Apparently I am allergic to bee stings. This was discovered by my entire hand becoming swollen in less than 5 min of sting.
So due to swelling . . .the burn became a scar.

Oh man.

Ok, as far as unnatural markings go, I have what i consider 16 tattoos: shoulder, ankle, lower back, upper back, a few small ones on my forearms, wrist, both arms have 3/4 sleeves, and a chestpiece. I like tattoos.

as far as natural markings, I have a scar in my eyebrow from a combination of getting kicked in the face as a child, and an eyebrow piercing gone awry. Scars on my fingers from an incident with a table saw. and freckles. lots of them.

My left arm tattoo has a lot of solid dark grey shading, and in the summer my freckles are actually visible through the ink. Which looks a little odd.

Piercings
Two in each ear. May be up to three by the end of this year.

Tattoos
None yet. I def. want a Celtic cross and perhaps my siggy (Unseen but seeing) in both Danish and Irish Gaelic.

Scars and misc.
:sigh:

I have a snazzy scar on the right side of my waist from when I had kidney surgery when I was about 18 months old. My mommy had been told, and subsequently told me, that it would be completely gone by the time I was 25. I'm 28 and the last time I measured it, it was 9 inches long, including the divet.

Another scar on my left index finger, thanks to an exboyfriend. He had a smallish machete and wanted to see if he could slice one of my cigarettes in half...while I was holding it. I told him no, he did it anyway, missed and I got a snazzy cut that took a while to close and heal. Maybe I should've gotten stitches.

Small scar on my left hand from the last time I rode a bicycle. The bike stopped and I didn't. There might also be a slightly smaller scar nearby.

Near my right elbow is a patch of skin that is even whiter than my skin. I think it's a weird burn from resting my arm on the window of one my mommy's cars back in the day during the summer.

Small pink/red marks on my right wrist and ring finger from a burn that I got at work. Stupid wrapping machine.

Small scars on my left middle finger next to the nail from slicing stuff at work. And I got them all at different times.

Small scar on the tip of my right ring finger from losing a fight with one of the slicing machines at work. How I did that one, I still don't know because the blade was covered.

On my left shin I have a scar from...I think it's from tripping over something when I was a child.

On my back I have some moles that don't bother me much until they're being scratched. :shudders:

Well, I think that covers them all.

Only piercings are one in each ear.

Scars, let's see:
-- biopsy, right breast;
-- melanoma removal, four left arm, two right arm, one left side of my nose, six right leg, two left leg
-- tubal ligation, navel and pubic bone
-- lipoma removal, left leg, one four inches, one six 1/2 inches

Birthmark: oh, yeah. "Strawberry" mark left leg; extends from mid-thigh to just below the knee, average circumfrence five inches. (I've always been glad that sucker wound up on my leg, and not my face.)

Edited to add: one tat. Left collarbone, a four-inch Eye of Horus.

Scars:

Above my lip where my sister backhanded me when she was talking on the phone. She cut me with her ringt.

I got four birth marks in almost a diamond shape below my left eye.

One looks like a flea on my neck.

The outside of my left thumb from when I was trying to de-pit a stubborn avocado with a superbly sharp knife. Right below my ring finger from an iron.

Right hand: below my middle finger on the palm: cutting cheese with a dull knife. Small white punctures scars on the outside of my thumb from where I got bit by a freightened dog.

Right arm--large burnt lips from where my arm got caught in an oven.

Abdomen: three inch scar from an emergency appendoctomy.

Left forearm... lets just say I was having too much fun with a razor. -cough-

Right leg: My knee's a battle zone from all the knicks cuts and bruises I got as a kid. (falling off trees, bikes, skates just fighting, etc.)

Left leg: a nice pale birthmark in the shape of a moon on the back of my thigh. Mom says it was originally on my ankle as a baby. I also got a little weird birth mark between my toes that looks like an ant. Star shaped scar on my ankle from an emergency blood transfussion at the age of 2 days. (Vitamin K deficiency)

Tattoo:

On my left ankle: It came to me in a dream, but with flames above and below the full moon. (http://www.newmoon.uk.com/ritual/tripmoonmirror.jpg)However the center moon is composed of a crescent, smiling face and the ones flanking its side are scrolls.

If mother were to look at it then, she'd say is pretty but not understand the symbology. ^.^

She'd then proceed to get a priest to exorcise me.

I have a tat on my left leg - here's a pic, but it doesn't do it justice!! It's a phoenix - go figure!

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j121/phoenix1979_2006/tat.jpg

I also have a large scar on my neck from thyroid cancer surgery back in 2000. It starts just above my collarbone on the left side of my neck, and goes all the way up to just under my right ear. Thankfully it's not very easy to notice because I had a great surgeon, but it sure freaked folks out when I first got home from the hospital!!

So many markings to list...and they're all scars :p

Let's see now--there's one on my left thumb from an x-acto knife. Same knife left a nasty one on my left index finger. I was working on one of my models, when the part I was trimming suddenly broke, putting the blade into my knuckle. Trust me, it hurt like hell!

There are kitty teeth marks on my left arm. Shortly after getting my old cat, he decided to bite me.

There's a small scar on my forehead...where I got hit with a wagon handle. When that happened, I literally saw stars...and lots of blood.

Then there's the one that nearly turned into a scar. I'd left my car windows up on a hot day. Not a good idea when you consider that the Tercel's interior was black and dark grey vinyl. Didn't have much of a choice, since it was raining when I'd parked it. After class was over, I got into the car, started it, put my hand on the gearshift...and screamed in pain! The raised, silver numbers on the shift knob were *very* hot, and had burned themselves into my palm

I don't have any tats yet, but I'm thinking seriously of getting my first one soon.

Current markings:

Cindy Crawford type birthmark on my left cheek. (FACE cheek, perverts!)

Half-moon scar on my left knee from ripping it open on a metal pole while riding my horse- went back after the accident and noticed that she must have seen the broken arena support before I did and jumped out of the way, because at my height on my horse, it should have gone into my abdomen. Saydrah-Save #1 of two for Flame.

Scar on my eyebrow from trying to get up and go riding the day after previous accident, despite knee size of cantaloupe. Fainted from blood loss and hit my head.

Scar on my eyelid from a 6'2" football player running into my 12 year old self at top speed and sending me flying- got a concussion and my glasses broke and cut my eyelid.

Three little scars from an appendectomy (which I was convinced was food poisoning until they let me play with the MRI viewer and look at my appendix myself!)

Five tooth marks on my right arm from a dog bite- first and last time I ever let myself get bitten, and the root of my desire to work with reactive dogs and their owners to help them calm down and cope in society.

No piercings.

Countless minor and almost unnoticeable scars.

I've got a patch of dark skin on my neck. It looks like I just need to wash my neck more, which caused no end of discomfort when my mom first noticed it when I was nine.

I've got one tattoo. A wing that covers most of the left half of my back. For some reason, when I describe it, people immediately imagine that i's just on my shoulder. It goes from my shoulder down to just above my hip. And no, I have no plans on ever getting the other wing. I want to get four more. A Raven on each shoulder and a Wolf by each ankle.

Piercings:
One in each ear, to be doubled next summer when Becks comes home.

No tattoos. I know what I would get, but it will never happen.

Scars:
A scar that is even paler then my usual pastiness on my forehead from when a boy literally ran into me in 2nd grade.

A scar on my right leg, on my shin from when I tripped over a milk crate at work that had a metal ...thing... on it..

...I could have sworn I had more scars. Oh, well.

I burned my legs when I was 12. First and second degree burns. The doctors told me that I would have the scars for about 4 or 5 years. They were gone less then a year later.

And a few freckles on my arms.

Tattoo:

I have a Tricolor (green/white/orange) shamrock with a "IRELAND" banner on my upper arm.

Scars:

Probably countless faint scars on both hands from playing with cats since I've been old enough to remember. Almost every cat I've ever had loved to play "grab the hand and kick" so I don't even notice cat claws in my flesh anymore. It made getting a tattoo easy, it felt like cat kneading my arm after a quadruple shot espresso.

I have scars on both shoulders from a severe sunburn when I was about 12 or so. It looks like I survived a horrendous ordeal but all it was is my stupid ass was in the summer sun for 3 hours after my sunscreen washed off in the pool.

Scar on my lip from getting sucker punched by some asshole. No, I wasn't drunk. The idiot started talking shit while we were working at an outdoor haunted house thing. I ended up talking back and verbally humiliated him, so his only recourse was to hit me in the mouth *while we were supposed to be working* and split my upper lip like bread fresh from the oven. Since it was Halloween, it did add to my costume to have blood running down my face, so I had to give him that. I was so pissed (and not wanting to start a brawl in front of all the kids who came to see the show) ) just walked back to the office, scaring the shit out of my one friend who saw me coming at her looking like my face was attacked by a hacksaw.

Birthmarks:

I'm Irish, so that means I have freckles. Instead of getting any kind of tan in the summer, I just get EVEN MORE FRECKLES. Thank god it's just on my arms, if it was on my face I'd look like I had brown measles.

Did I mention my freckles?

Not too many, considering how fair skinned I am, but these are the more interesting ones:

One on my left cheek. Apparently it's my proof of my Irish heritage.

One on my left shin.

One on the right side of my bellybutton.

There's three more, but no one wants to hear about them, I'm sure. :p

Several piercings, won't get into them...

That's hot! ;)

As far as my markings go... umm... I have a scar on my right bicep from when a dalmation named Pongo bit me. I have a dent on each shin from a ordeal involving a 10,000lb Bobcat, and a cement pilon. I used to have piercings, but, a friend forced them off me.. basically.

As far as tattoos go... none. Other than the scars, my skin is pretty much OEM.

I've got freckles, too. All over my body. My face is covered in freckles as well as my arms and legs. I've got a few freckles on my belly and back area as well. One of my friends saw all these freckles when we were in the third grade, and called me Freckle Allie ever since.

I have exactly one piercing... my left nip. I got it a long time ago (at least ten years), mostly because of my annoying tendency to talk when I should listen. I keep it because no one expects me to have it.

My most prominent scar is on my left wrist when I had ulnar nerve surgery done. The surgeon said, "You've got the beginnings of carpal tunnel, so you might as well get that done while I'm in there." It looks like I lost a knife fight.

I have a scar on the inside of my right wrist that is shaped like a scorpion...which i like, as I am an evil Scorpio.

I have my ears pierced twice---the original piercing has been stretched, and is now a size zero---the second piercing is still conventional sized. I used to have both my eyebrows pierced, right in the center of each one, which looked really cool as I have very large intense eyes. I eventually took them out for a job.

I have large Sailor Jerry-style doves tattooed on the backs of my calves. They are very pretty, and look fantastic when I wear heels and no stockings. I love my doves.

Twice...well, maybe three times...don't remember...I fell from a high distance before I was 5 or something and whacked my head open. There is a very very small scar there. I'm not sure if that's what caused the ADHD or not...most likely not. And yes, I have a fear of heights.

When I was 13...ON MY BIRTHDAY, IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER...my appendix started acting screwy until 2 weeks later when it burst as I was being rushed to the hospital. I was projected 3 months in the hospital, but I was out in weeks. In any case, because of multiple operations, I have a vertical scar that stems from the bottom of my belly button to about 6 inches down, a HUGE horizontal scar to the right of it on my abdomen that had to be kept open the entire time I was in the hospital because they were draining the absess, and a small scar on the left side of my abdomen that I suspect was also assisting in the draining, but I can't quite remember.

I have a "bump" on my right middle finger knuckle. This one's more annoying/weird than anything. I used to be a relatively testy person. Yes, I'm still a hothead to a degree, but I've gotten better. Anyway, with that in mind, there was one day where our gerbil or something (I'm not much of a caged small animal person) was doing it's usually fetish of tipping it's squeaky ass metal wheel over on its side and banging it against the glass cage. I couldn't concentrate and it was driving me nuts.

My INTENTION was to tap against the cage a few times...nope. I tapped a liiiiiittle too hard and OMG THE CAGE BROKE ON MY FIST SPLITTING THE KNUCKLE OPEN AND CAUSING ME TO FLY INTO A PANIC. I was 17. It hurt like a bitch. Yes, the gerbil was okay.

And finally, when I still lived at my mom's...still 17...one of our cat's was going blind and getting paranoid or something at the same time. For some reason he developed an unnatural phobia of...hats. HATS. Being the little shit I am/was, what did I do? Why that's right, I picked up a ball cap, put it on, proceeded to pick him up and say "Hey buddy! How ya doin?"

The cat's response?, then , then :punch:, all within a matter of, oh...2 seconds. HE SCRATCHED THE (insert favorite expletive here) OUTTA MY HAND! YES, THE SAME RIGHT (expletive plus "ing") HAND! AAAAGHGHHGHGHGGHH!! Later, I got him back by waiting until he was birdwatching, snuck up on him, and threw the cap at him. Yeah...he saw it at the last second, NINJA LEAPED up onto the screen, and hissed downward until I took it away...AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF LAUGHING.

...Anyway...yes, that left a nice scar, which surprisingly, is almost invisible now. That's about all I can think of. Well, that and, if it counts, I have a broken big toe that's never healed correctly and flat feet. That's about it.

I don't have any piercings or tattoos, but I do have a couple scars and a birthmark.

- Toward the top of my head, above my left ear - scar. When I was three I jumped from the back of the couch onto the corner of the coffee table. My intended landing zone was my dad's back. He moved. Table didn't. That was worth seven stitches.

- Above my right eye - scar. Getting punched by a rather large individual when I was fifteen. The scar is from the hinge on my glasses. Not a lot of blood, but it did earn me a trip to the ER and through the CAT scan machine.

- Below my left eye - birthmark. It has gone down noticeably as I have grown. When I was little it was a very big red mark, it now looks like a scar. Most people think it is a mark from my glasses now.

- left corner of my mouth - scar. I think I cut it. I'm not really sure.

- Left side of stomach, right above my navel, and at my belt line - A set of three scars from an appendectomy.

That's about it.

A set of three scars from an appendectomy.
Awesome. So I'm not the only one, then. Kinda looks like I got in a knife fight with a midget.

For tats, I have just one. It actually was a Christmas present to my best friend. We'd discussed off and on for a few years getting matching tattoos, or complimentary tattoos. Finally I told her I was going to get us one as her present. We discussed what we wanted and what we didn't want. We didn't want something regrettable, like each other's names or BFF, etc. What we decided on had dual meanings, meanings towards our friendship and towards ourselves. We picked an infinity symbol made of vines, infinity for our friendship and if you turn it sideways it is an 8. We were both born on the 8th of our respective months. On either end of the infinity rests a flower. One is a morning glory, her birth flower. The other is a narcissus, my birth flower. We plan on getting them touched up sometime in the future because we have a few minor gripes, but aside from that we are content. I also plan on getting one or two more tats from the same artist. Here's a pic of mine.

For piercings, I have two holes in one ear and three in the other. I'd only intended to have double piercings but the first time I had the second holes done they closed up so I had it redone. One of the original holes reopened in one ear so now I have three on that side.

For scars, well, I have a few odds and ends with little scars, like a small scar on one knee from falling as a child. The majority of my scars are on my stomach from two laproscopic surgeries. One was a lap-band surgery, the other was when I had my gall bladder removed in October. When I went in for my follow up my surgeon joked that it looked like I'd been stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen because of all the little scars (and one big one from when they put in my port during the lap-band procedure.)
