So the owners (who I 've really enjoyed working for) have sold the place. The new owner swears that nothing is going to change. But the new managers who are going to run the place are talking like they wanna let go of everyone and bring their own people in.
I have no idea what's going to happen and the owner change is taking place next week. I hate not knowing if I'm even going to have a job next week.

Oh hell. I'm sorry to hear that you're stressed, but my fingers and toes are crossed for you- as best as toes and typing fingers can be crossed, anyway. :)
And if all else fails, set a fire!

Things turned out okay for me, met the new owners who are already impressed with me. So I'm staying, I like them they seem very laid back and cool. Unfortunately my co-worker got let go and since she found out she has been nothing but a string of negativity. She keeps insisting that the new owners "will run the place into the ground", the former owners "stabbed her in the back" and that I "should watch my back because I'll likely get fired too"
I understand that she is pissed but after a few weeks of stressing I can finally breathe easy and let down my guard a little. And her constant little comments are deflating my new found joy a little.

Some folks need a 4x4 to hammer a clue in their skull. I would be blunt with your ex-co-worker and say "All your constant negativity comments is why the new owners didn't keep you. They have been good to me so far so please keep those types of comments to yourself."
Of course that just the bluntness of being male and all ;)
