Just saw this on MSN this morning and thought it was worth a share. I wonder if this study explains the SC'-ishness of people who live there. Can anyone in these cities testify?

This is really something to be proud of, along with being #6 on the "Fattest City List.":(

16. Dallas, TX - probably because of people constantly asking where the Ewings are.

17. Houston, TX - because the underpasses get flooded out whenever it rains.

43. Seattle, WA - how much fog and rain can a person take in a year? Or maybe it's the aliens when they land on Mount Ranier.

74. Billings, MT - blame it on the goatropers.

93. Sioux Falls, SD - because they aren't Rapid City

Why in the name of the Gord do people who live in this place have any right to be angry. You live on an island paradise where the tourists can't go unless they have a shitload of money, the weather is 81 degrees every single day, it barely rains. If you wanna play golf, you play golf. If you wanna go fishing, you go fish, you can go for a swim at any time...and its just awesome. From all of us who have to suffer through -10 in February with snow and ice and crappy drivers and shoveling  , all you Hawaiians have it really freakin good!

Actually, what gets us are the endless jokes about lots of rain. ;)

One of our fellow CS members has a sig line that sums up the Seattle anger nicely: "Living in Seattle is like being in love with a beautiful woman who's sick all the time." There's so much going for the place, and yet someone (usually the local government, but sometimes private citizens chip in as well) manages to go and mess it up just often enough to leave a thin, oily sheen of annoyance on the surface.

I live sort of between #2 and #12.
You'd think I'd be over run by angry citizens but I don't actually notice that people are any angrier than anywhere else I've been. Sure, there are angry folks but I see as many or more happy ones as well.

Any lists of Canadian cities? :D

Interesting...

Oh, and I hear that in Canada, Edmonton has the most road rage. Makes me kind of glad I don't drive. :D

Uh, only 90? Jeez, I thought people would be a tad more upset about things--our city's broke, the roads suck, taxes are too high, no jobs, etc.

But, at least we have "dem Supa Bawl Stillers"

63. Louisville, KY - guess we're not all that angry....... :) Although I've dealt w/ some angry people before.....

and protege, did you spell steelers wrong on purpose?? I lived in Pittsburgh for awhile and my husband is from there..... just wondering if I was missing a joke there somewhere since I think Super Bowl was misspelled for a reason.....

#3 Detroit Michigan. That explains so much as to why I get so many SCs at work during the NBA season:cry: . That sucks along with being one of the most obese states in the goddamn nation. Man, I need to get out of there.

Isn't it funny that 3 cities that we're close to #1, #2, and #12. I'm with you, I think they're talking too much to folks that actually live in the "down-town" part of those cities. Either that or they're taking anger on the road with it. Then I can completely understand #1, 2, and #12. Those places have some of the worst road designs ever.

Frankly, I'm surprised it didn't rank higher. Seven months straight of 100+ temperatures, combined with the pollution, urban sprawl, idiot politicians and one of the highest car theft rates in the nation tends to make people very irritable.

Hehe, mine's not even on the list. Considering this city gets one violent crime a year (car accidents are back up again :P), I'm not terribly surprised.

#57 - Noo Yawk.

Not shocked, we're actualy a pretty calm mecca for everyone, except for when the tourists stop short on the subway clogging up traffic and *muttergrumblecurse*.

Yep, I'm not too surprised. Must be b/c of the endless construction on the Urban Loop, the recently opened ball park downtown, the colossial elephant of a coliseum that was redone in the early 90's amid a bunch of protesting (apparently not enough to kill the bond referendum that paid for it, though) and those who can't let go of Nov. 3, 1979 (day of a shootout involving racist folk) and had to create a group to relive it.

*sigh* Some days I really wish I wasn't part of the planet.:beam:

The closest city to me is Colorado Springs, #91. I looked back at the article and how they made these calculations was measuring people with high BP, combined it with workplace deaths and traffic congestion statistics.

I understand how Co. Springs made it - I-25 is a freaking nightmare up there.

#86.

Wasted money on a cross-lake ferry that couldn't earn a profit, skies almost as cloudy as Seattle, but also one of the most philanthropic cities....

Can't really think of why anyone would be angry here, well, except for the goddamned Californians that keep trooping up here ;)

San Diego is only 45? You'd think it would be higher being stuck between LA and TJ.

Aaack! I live in city #4?! I mean I can kind of understand it--the Ravens suck, the Orioles suck, crime is ever present, affordable housing is becoming a scarce commodity and 695 is a nightmare at rush-hour.

But....Washington, DC is only #25? I call BS. Their traffic is ten times worse, affordable housing is non-existant except for the poorest neighborhoods and no-one seems to have a plan to curtail gentrification, plus they have Congress, the White House, lobbyists out the wazoo, and one of the highest per capita rates of attorneys in the whole nation! How can they only be #25? They do have that darn Tai Shan though......but is one adorable panda cub enough to cancel everything else out? I think not.

Living in Detroit is a total nightmare. Constuction everywhere, housing is expensive especially in the Metro area. People drive like assholes, a corrupt mayor, and more. The best thing is, we have the Red Wings and we have Canada near us.

Oh, and I hear that in Canada, Edmonton has the most road rage. Makes me kind of glad I don't drive. :D

The reason we have the most road rage is because of those f*cking *ssholes who have to drive too f*cking slow, and then I've got some *sshole in a giant f*cking truck shoved up my *ss, and I'm going over 10 billion f*cking potholes, and DON'T EVEN get me started on 170th street, parking on Whyte, or the finding a godd*mned address in Mill Woods.

Why yes, I have a car. Why do you ask?

I'm not even on the list, here in Oak Grove KY, but I am closest to Nashville and we are #5 on the list. I agree, Nashville, is a very angry place, especially on the highway. It takes a special breed of people to drive around in Nashville.
