So I go down the Tax Office last week to take care of some business, and I show the greeter guy my papers, and he very politely directs me to the proper line. Which was doubled over and hanging out the door. He says, "probably gonna be around a five minute wait, miss." I don't really believe him, but I thank him and get in line, gritting my teeth.

That line was moving so fast I'm suprised I wasn't issued a crash helmet and motion sickness meds when I got into it. I was impressed. There were about a dozen clerks working and they were just banging people out like clockwork. Awesome!

So, this is the South, and we are neighborly here and we chat with strangers, and I comment to the dude in front of me "Wow, they really are moving people fast here. This is great." And he says "Yeah, for a CHANGE."

So I'm thinking to myself, is this yabbo in this line every day? I know I don't need to come down here every day, so :wtf:? Nice. Glad that every cloud has a dogshit lining for you, you know?

So I just non-commitedly murmured, "Well, you know, I saw this line and was all bummed, but I'm glad to see I have to spend a long time waiting."

So he says, and I quote, "Yeah, they're in a big hurry to get that money."

Yeah. I'm sure these clerks get to keep each and every dollar they manage to fleece from the unsuspecting public and stuff it right down their pants. So not only was Mr. Positive a downer, a pessimist, and a complainer, but he is just flat out fucking stupid on top of it.

Remind me to invite this blockhead to my next party.

I just gave him a pitying look and started getting my papers in order.

What a downer.

I'm sure his many friends just love to spend time with him. *sarcasm*

What a lovely man.

I wonder what DOES make him happy? Kicking puppies?

Well I would hope you'd have pwned him by loudly thanking the government workers for their superior efforts.

Well, you know, I did thank the clerk and compliment her on the efficiency that they were processing people, but like I said, there were like a dozen clerks there, and Mr. Sunshine was way down far away from where I ended up.

I doubt it would have mattered.
