Alright everyone I could use a little help. I came across an advertisment for a part time receptionist at a funeral parlor. The money's better than I'm making now and it won't conflict with school. So any advice on how to write a letter of introduction/inquiry to make me sound good?

I want it to say "I'm comfortable around dead people but not in a creepy sexual way".

I'm not the best person to ask for advice being that I can't get a job to save my life, but I do wish you lots of good luck! :)

To be honest, I don't think a funeral parlor receptionist would be working directly with dead bodies. I think a receptionist's role would be handling the families of the dead people.

To coordinate times, places, events, to organize funerals for partially functional emotional people.... in other words, kid gloves and tact.

Which I dont have. If you do, go for it.

Yes agreeing with the above post, make sure to point out that you can be tactful and kind to the customers and such. Best of luck.

I once interviewed for an Administrative Assistant for a funeral home a couple of years ago, if/when you go for the interview, the best thing to do is dress neatly, conservatively and in dark or neutral colors since you would be dealing with grieving families that come through the funeral home(or parlor). Definitely emphasize on being tactful, respectful, sensitive and professional. Good Luck! :)
