And it shows in his computer.
Every time he gets online pop ups with naked ladies everywhere. His homepage keeps changing to "gophersearch.com" instead of Msn.com. Shortcuts on desktop saying "live girls here" "get sex now" the works.
Now, I run virus scan all the time, and I keep running adware/spyware but so far no viruses, and only tracking cookies show up.
I'm at the point where I'm going to run recovery on the sucker and get on with it (But I hate doing that)
Any advice?
Windows XP Pro, Dell Precision 370
Thanks in Advance

Is his boss aware of the types of things on his computer?
Are their females in your workplace?
Is your boss even aware of the lawsuit he is setting himself and the company up for?
Document what you are doing and what you are finding. Inform HR or his Boss of what you find. Doing this will help keep your nose clean when the $#!t hits the fan.

It'd probably be easier to ban the boss from getting on the puter.

1. Yes, to an extent. The owner's wife was trying to help me get the stuff off of there earlier
2. One, owner's wife is here often though
3. He doesn't care. There are 3 of us in the office at all times, everyone else is in the factory most or all of the day.
4. No HR department, his boss is the owner of the company, and my boss is 67 years old and ready to retire. Therefore he gets to do what he wants because they don't want him to retire (and the owner has not the testicular fortitude to tell him not to do something)

This is the biggest thing about tech support.
Unless you KNOW that he's surfing porn, don't make that accusation. There are plenty of ways to get porn popups without looking at porn. Download Spybot and Ad-aware and run them. If your comfortable, run HijackThis. Hijackthis.de will give you an idea of which entries to delete.

Trust me, I know. I've walked past while he is perusing sites, he's not very quick with the minimize button.
He's also called from his car and asked me to take the pictures he's printed out of the printer and put them on his desk for him because he left them there, and he didn't want anyone else seeing them.

I might add that you should run them from Safe Mode (F8 as the computer boots) as many of the hijack programs have gotten smart enough to disable some scanning software. Safe Mode only loads what you need, so they shouldn't be able to interfere (hopefully!).

Good catch, Geek King. I should have remembered that part.

Granted I don't watch over his shoulder, but I've never seen him looking at any young girls.
But my first call would be to the local cops if I did see it.

The boss or the puter?
From the sound of the OP, probably both.
In a way, I'm kinda glad we don't have internet access on our work computers outside of the company intranet.
We also didn't have it back at WD either . . . I know several managers who would have been on an all-day beaver hunt.

So update.
I really didn't want to reformat then have to call the software people and explain I needed a new license and I wasn't stealing, etc. So I upgraded, downgraded, scanned, deleted, etc. until the damn thing seems to be running right.
I also deleted his NSFW favorites and locked the thing down a bit.
He comes to me yesterday. "You deleted the best porn sites it took me 3 years to find"
That was it, but I found it funny he even mentioned it.
