My husband and I used to work for the same ISP, but different departments. He had a co-worker that was a real piece of work. This guy worked the graveyard shift by himself and spent most of his hours downloading porn - they'd find it in the work directories that everybody would use. One day the morning crew came in and the boss FLIPPED OUT. His keyboard was all icky. You know why.

The graveyard guy did eventually get fired. Nobody was surprised.

Did he not like his job? Or boss? Did he even considered that he would get caught? Some people.

Ewwwww *shudder* so gross.

Back in college, our graphic design computer lab closed at 2am and the doors to the building closed around 10pm. A security guard was stationed in the building right outside the graphics lab when the building closed and when 2am would roll around he would kick out the graphic kids.

Now in the lab, we had a high capacity color printer. To print to that machine you had to have a college ID and had to have money on it (kinda like a debit card that only worked on campus). Once you sent your print, you would have to swipe your card for the print to be charged and be released.

Alright, enough backstory.

A few years ago, when the building was first built and opened, the first people to print to the color printer each morning would find that they were being charged $1.75/each for 5-10 sheets of graphic pornography pictures.

My professor was livid and called security. Security blamed it on the students. My professor proceeded to collect all the pictures (after getting the students reimbursed) and brought them down to security to show them that it was impossible that it was one of her students, as each and every print was timestamped between 3am and 4am.

The security working nights in that building was subsequently fired.

The amount of people you hear about getting busted with porn at work just astonishes me - do these people NOT think?

Maybe I just need a nap, but...did he get fired because of the keyboard incident or something unrelated?

Maybe I just need a nap, but...did he get fired because of the keyboard incident or something unrelated?

One particular night he screwed up royally. He messed up a bunch of equipment settings that made several PoPs (the remote locations all over the country that users called in to) screwy, had a circuit tested by telco because of RNA (if it's ring no answer, the circuit is working - but the modems aren't picking up), and that's the night he downloaded his porn to the work directory (where lots of people in the company would see the obviously porn file names). I would guess that HR went after the porn issue.

This other guy got fired for kiddie porn :puke:, another one for anime porn (how to you explain *that* one to your spouse?), this other one had beastiality on his computer but I don't think he got caught. Ugh. We had all the winners.

Was the kiddie porn guy he reported and arrested after being fired? WTF is wrong with these people, downloading and surfing porn at their jobs where it can be seen?!! Jebus man! As for the dude that choked the chicken and spooged on his boss's keyboard, that's just gross! :brainbleach:

One of the desk locations for my job is in a timeshare (we don't work for the timeshare, we do their gifting). This particular desk has a half-door behind the desk, the guests come up in front, but anyone walking in the hallway behind can see the computer screens. The owner of the timeshare (as in big boss), his office is very near there, and he's always around.

This one day, the owner was walking by, and looked in the half-door. Guess what he sees?

Yup, you guessed it.

The guy that was working that desk was fired immediately.

How stupid do you have to be to not only do this kind of thing at work, but to also do it out in the open?

(Oh, yeah, this desk is also where our safe is located, so there is a camera that is focused right there, and can see everything.)

Spanking the monkey on your bosses comuter, well I've heard tales of two people getting down on one of my old bosses desks because it was the only insulting thing they could get away with.

Never seen anyone with pr0n at work, my first two companies were IT sparse and my current employer has the network locked down harder than you can imagine.

I have heard (3rd hand, so my info is scanty) about an employee who is supposed to make deliveries around the campus. He has been banned from some buildings though, ones that have computer labs. And from the thread topic, you can guess why.

No, he wasn't petting anything, that I heard about anyway, but downloading prawn on a public computer? That takes stupid to a whole new level. Pass the :brainbleach: I need a hit.

I once saw a client who had been sacked for downloading porn at work. He tried to argue it was OK because it should have been private it only accidentally ended up on the shared network

He passed me the papers his employers had used at the disciplinary hearing. A surprisingly large bundle for such an open and shut case, and far to big to look through properly in the time I had - so I flipped through a few pages at random and discovered the bundle included print outs of every download

The bits I glimpsed (:lol:and I did glimpse bits) weren't that bad, but it was still a lot of porn committed to paper just to sack the guy.

Sometimes there isn't enough brain bleach to cover my job.

Well if I recall correctly, the kiddie porn guy claimed the kids in the photos were over age, and it was iffy. I don't know if HR called the cops on him. I don't know why anybody would risk their job over porn. Pretty stupid...but then they wouldn't be co-irkers if they weren't!

For a few months last year I worked at a second-hand computer store. Most of the stock was reconditioned end of lease stuff from a major laptop manufacturer.

One time while checking newly arrived stock, they found a folder full of porn on the desktop of one machine. Clearly labeled "Bob's porn". Someone rang the manufacturer and had Bob fired.

Speaking of second hand computers, back in the mid-80s my wife's office computer went kaput. She was temporarily given an older Mac that had been stored in a closet. One of her coworkers had left a few files on the computer. They were ads he had placed in the local gay newspaper. She knew who it was, and he was not out of the closet, unlike his old computer.

At my previous job, we did security on movie sets occasionally. There was one guy who was really strange; he was in his late thirties and still lived with his mom. She always came in to get his paychecks and his schedule cause he would lose it if she didn't.
Anyway, he was found in his car doing his thing. His boss sat knocking on his window loudly for a couple of minutes before this guy even realized he'd been spotted. Of course, I was filled in on this story by the person who found said co-worker while eating my lunch.
