It never fails. You go there, sign in for some reason unknown to man, sit in a room while three generations of trailer trash loudly verbalize their reason for being their while their hellspawn runs rampant all over the confined space, until after 15-45 minutes, you are herded like cattle with about a dozen other people into an ever smaller room and shown a slideshow with web addresses on it. Things you could easily have done at home. And yet you tell people to attend these things WHY?

Recently, I've been on the state of Florida's job search sites, and many of the employers require you to submit your applications through one of these wastes of state funds, and even just to submit a damn job application, you still have to sign in and "Wait for someone to help you".

W.T.F?

Why can't you just do this online, or else be handed a piece of paper otherwise known as, I dunno . . . a job application?

These places are pointless, forever treating those who go there as second rate citizens, and I just wish companies would hire the old-fashioned way.

*is at the end of her rope*

Oh yes, and to the fuckwads on US 90 today, please either buy a car small enough for you to handle, as well as going back to driving school. Or better yet, stay home. Let me make this clear to you - just because there is a traffice light coming up, does not mean you have to stop. If said shiny traffic light is green, then by all means, keep going. Do not stare at the traffic light and drool, wondering if you should stop or not. GREEN MEANS GO.

end rant.

Red means stop
Green means go
and yellow means go very fast

Kudos for anyone who gets the reference :)

And on topic I feel for you LadyBarbossa. Good luck with your search and lets pray that you don't have to put up with this too much longer.

Umm, have you thought about applying for a federal job?

http://www.usajobs.gov/

It's all on-line. Yes, it can take up to three months for you to hear back from them, but *shrug* it's the feds.

That is from the Starman Movie if I recall.

Slayer: I am not sure but that souds like somethign from one of the Police Squad episodes/movies.

Barbossa. Tell me about it. I know what you mean about the way those places treat people. Like you're a compleate idiot and cannot handle the simplist thing. Fortunately my county employment office is run by two nice ladies. The problem was when the state of Ohio got the bright idea to fold welfare, child support, children services, employment and everything else into one big agency called the department of job and family services.

I'm not sure who it was supposed to be convenient for but it sure wasnt the general public.
