I'm looking into getting a queen sized bed. My mother wants a bedroom set...without the bed.
Steinhafels is having a GREAT sale of a bedroom set WITH bed for $650.07. :eek:
I asked Mom if she wants to go check it out.
No she does not.
Why the F not? We will not find a sale that good again for quite some time.
So now I'm deciding whether I want to head out to the store and check it out anyways. With my tax rebate check and this week's paycheck, I'll have enough. But part of me doesn't want to, because I already gave Mom $300 for a bedroom set or whatever, so why should I spend even more of MY money?
::sigh::

Well....
You could buy the bedroom set (how much would just a queen bed run you in a set you like?).
Then, 'sell' your mother the rest of the set, sans bed, for return the $300 you gave her.
And if she doesn't go for it, you could always try listing it on Craig's list for a reasonable amount.

I don't know how they compare price wise anymore but we've allways had good luck at Costco in good prices on beds. Its just the mattress, box springs, and cheap ass metal frame (not a nice wooden headboard type deal). But they have allways been comfy.

My eldest sister was telling me about her 2nd oldest son's new bed, and how he got it at Furniture Deals and Steals.
It just so happens that there is one 20 minutes from my house.
I got my new queen size mattress and boxspring AND Mom's new full size mattress and boxspring for under $400. Quality ones, too.
AND Mom's going to pay me back for her set.
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Now all I have to do is find a bedding set that I like, which is no easy task.

I love their website. It's like a crime scene or something! :D
But, oh noes! They don't have a store in houston. :cry:

Yeah, I had a harder time deciding on a bedspread than I did deciding on the bed!

Big sis, I'd go with something blue.

My old quilts, one from my single bed and one from my double bed, fit my new mattress. (I'm not big on tucking them in or anything.)
But a new bed deserves new bedding.

Absolutely!
This is the one I got. http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2467815&cp=1331605.1331626.1331988&parentPage=family. It's cotton twill, nice and soft like your favorite khakis :)
Of course all the pieces are sold separately and they ain't cheap, either! But I only got the comforter and the bed skirt, and they always have 20% off coupons in their ad in the Sunday paper, so at least I got that. I've been debating springing for a throw pillow or pillow sham but haven't done it yet.

I kind of like flannel bedding. Nice and soft and cozy-feeling.

::checking out the ads::
I'm also getting a (new) frame, since the adjustable one just won't stretch enough.
