Went to Kelly's eye appointment this afternoon. She's not as blind as we all feared! :party:
Kelly is getting better at recognizing her alphabet. (Last night, she was spelling letter by letter "tiny titans"). So I asked the eye doctor how much sight does he think she has? He wasn't too sure. Then Byron (yes, he did show up and on time too) was like, she could probably read the eye chart 'cos she's getting to know her letters better!
So she read the eye chart. First it was with both eyes. Then he covered one eye and then the other eye. Turns out her left eye (aka the good eye) is 20/20. The right eye (the one with the cataract) is 20/60. We can postpone the surgery a little longer. (He was afraid she was close to 20/200 or something). Whew.
However, he did give us a prescription for Atropene(?) - an eye drop to blurry her good eye which would force her to use the bad one.
But first I'm going to try and patch her again. Wish me luck!
