Phone rings, I answer, guy asks for the manager by name. I recognize the voice (he calls all the time), and know it's the assistant GM's husband. She's back in the office so i hit the intercom button to tell her she has a call.

However, i forgot to hit the "HOLD" button first. So the second I switched over to the intercom... it hung up the other line.

He did call back, and I apologized like crazy, luckily he's a good sport and wasn't upset.

Anyone else ever hang up on someone accidentally? Especially if it's someone important.

A couple of accidental hang-ups due to button positioning here, but nobody important.
The worst we've had were on our old phones, where the Caller ID wasn't updated. We just got a new DM and the old DMs name was still on the list.. new SM answers with Old DMs name >_< .

That was irritating.

Hung up on on the CEO of a company I used to work for once. Ooops. He was cool about it.

Did that a few times at the call center I used to work at. The Hold and Disconnect buttons were right next to each other, so if you weren't careful, you'd cut them off instead of putting them on hold.

I accidentally hung up on my sup when they called to speak to the GM about a schedule. They were cool about it. Once I "accidentaly" hung up on a SC who called about 20 times to ask the same question. Whoops.

I do that a lot at the hotel I work for. :D

By mistake of course. But I figure, if it's important, then they'll call back. Right?
