Today, my big guy was running around outside when he tripped in a hole in the ground and managed to tear a ligament in his foot and maybe caused a chip in the bone.
The neighbor rang the doorbell and told us what happened, since my son couldn't stand up to get help. We thanked the neighbor profusely.
I tried to help my son walk to the car and into the ER, but he was so afraid of hurting me that he wouldn't put his weight on me, even when I told him it was fine, even in pain he wasn't willing to take a chance of hurting me.
So, he has a partial cast on his foot and leg and is on crutches for at least 3 days. He has a doctor's note to get him out of P.E. and I'm calling the school tomorrow to let them know he will be on crutches and might need help.
He is such a trooper that he hasn't once complained about the pain or inconvince of being in a partial cast and on crutches.
