We had to put one of our cats, Shadow, to sleep this morning. He was 13, not walking and not eating. There really wasn't anything that could be done for him.
Shadow is hardly the first pet I've lost, and it doesn't get any easier. He was quite the character, possibly the loudest cat I've ever met. He had a loud meow that sounded like "MOUSE!" and he's the only cat I've ever heard walk across the floor! A very silly little cat, and very loving, with beautiful glossy black fur and bright yellow eyes. He is missed. :(

I'm sorry. No, it doesn't get any easier. I lost my beloved dog on Good Friday and my husband's cat on July 3rd.
I know I'm still not over it. :(

I really am sorry about that. I lost two birds. One I rolled over when she flew from her cage to cuddle next to me while I slept. Losing a pet is bad, but think of all the good times you had. You gave that cat a great life, the best life he ever had. Maybe get another in time? I got a cat after losing my birds, and its such a character. I'll give her a hug for you. :)

You're right, XCashier, it doesn't matter if it's the first time or the 15th, it's always rough letting go. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.

(((hugs XCashier)))
I'm so sorry for your loss of Shadow. I know it's never easy to lose a beloved pet.
I had to put my other kitty to sleep 5 years ago cuz she had cancer (tumour on her liver and cysts on her kidneys) and there was nothing that could be done - she was almost 19 years old. I'd had her from the day she was born (we took in a pregnant stray), so she was always my baby. I still have days when I miss her so much I feel like crying. It has gotten better over the years, but I know I'll always miss her...

I'm sorry for your loss.
Grieve, cry, mourn, and then when you're ready, go adopt another one. ;)

Oh no.
I'm sorry to hear you've lost a family member.
All I can say is Hugs, and remember all the funny things she did :)

I'm sorry for your loss. The pain is never easy to deal with. :(
My family and I had to put my dog to sleep a year and a half ago. I still miss her.

**HUGS**
Shadow knew he had a good life and a loving home. I'm sure that plenty of furry friends will be more than willing to show him around on the other end of the Rainbow Bridge.
