In attempts to kick BUTT in the Halloween costume contest this year, I've decided that I've outgrown my vampiness, and will become a SUPERHERO!!!

This means designing and creating my own costume. (eep!)

First of all, my name:

CS/MIS Girl (created during my near double major time in college)
CS Girl
IT Girl (I don't know if people will think It as in it, not IT)

Opinions?

Secondly, I need to figure out how to make a cape.

Thirdly, I need someone to draw or create me a whatever name I go with, in a Superman diamond.

Fourthly, I know I want to go with green, and have various computer parts on my costume. Suggestions? HELP??

I heart you all!!!

Well, if you can't figure out a costume for one of those, you can always listen to Stephen Lynch's song called Superhero. He has a couple interesting ones in it...

Pretty sure the IT girl will come off like it girl. Unfortunately that is all I have to contribute. :p

Why not just wear a black spandex cat suit and add sponsorship logos, a la "Captain Amazing" in the movie Mystery Men?

What about a tongue-in-cheek mix of both?

An IT it girl. :-)

So... Palm pilot-type technology... Buddy Holly glasses, sexy tight black dress, suit jacket. Heavy long black lashes, hair down... Think on it.

Heh, I like RB's idea. And Knightmare, I'm actually dressing up as The Bowler this year! :D

Yeah, I like RB's base...you can be IT Girl, but make it sort of a parody of an "It" girl, you know, the whole Paris Hilton thing:

Carry a tiny purse made from old motherboards
Carry a little stuffed dog wearing glasses with tape on the frames, with a t-shirt that says "Doesn't Byte"
Wear a short skirt with motorcycle boots, hair up in a bun with big bling earrings, nerd glasses with a fake-diamond chain, little "designer" t-shirt with something geeky on the front that the less-tech would just think is "soooo cute!!" (the Linux penguin, for example).
Put DrinkJockey's crest on a cape - a satin cape, of course, satin being in at the moment ;) - and you're set!!

Oh oh oh.. I just thought of a detail that could help. Instead of sequins or the rhinestones, you can use capacitors and other little pieces that you can get cheap at Radio Shack. If you wanna spend a little more money and go for the gusto, It's not hard to wire up LED's to a battery, and you could embed those in your logo/cape! I think the small 9 volt should be able to power about 10+ LED's

I adore Stephen Lynch. I wish I could remember some of the heros people were yelling at him when we saw him live a couple of years ago.

The guy is hilarious!

I know I'm a little sensative, but I'm oddly about to burst into tears.

The dept head, Bossman and I got into a conversation about halloween costumes. I told them my 3 ideas, the IT it Girl, CS Girl (now leaning to Tech Girl), and the Digital Angel.

The first two they just made fun of me for. The digtal angel just got an eh.

I have put a lot of thought into my ideas, as has the people who posted here.

Making fun of me and my ideas just isn't cool.
