Highlander: The Series

My husband and I are part of a group of friends that get together every couple weeks to watch movies on Friday nights. Lately, we've been having a blast with episodes of the "Highlander" TV series (our friend has all 6 seasons on DVD!).

We spend most of the time commenting on Adrian Paul's fine ass (the women do, anyway) and making fun of the "Highlander" conceits, like all Immortals must live in close proximity to 3 things: 1) A bridge 2) A deserted warehouse 3) A Burlington Coat Factory.

We're all in love with Methos; the only problem is that we're running out of Methos episodes to watch! :cry: We'll just go back and start over again, I guess!

Any other "Highlander" fans here? Who loves Methos? :D

*grin* Methos was an awesome character. However, looking at your avatar, I have to wonder if you've noticed the actor in any other series you might be a fan of? I know I have.

I enjoyed the series tremendously. A few things irked me (Richie becoming an immortal, Tessa getting killed, and the fact that both Paris and New York City looked uncannily like Vancouver), but it was a great show. Amanda was my favorite. She was just so much fun, betraying anyone and everyone to get what she wanted. Too bad Highlander: The Raven bombed.

I've noticed that several cities in these kinds of shows look suspiciously like Vancouver. Also, many fortified government buildings, alien constructs, ancient ruins and the like look suspiciously like either our art gallery or our court house. -.-

they also have a book series out pertaining to methos, but i forgot who wrote them

Wow, there are more fans than I thought there would be!

However, looking at your avatar, I have to wonder if you've noticed the actor in any other series you might be a fan of? I know I have.

Oh dear, I have only watched Stargate spottily I'm afraid, and we only have up to season 3. If we have any episodes with Peter Wingfield I will make my husband drag them out today so I can see them!

The only other thing I have ever seen him in was one of the X-Men movies, for a few minutes. I guess I will have to tackle the IMDB and get a list for Netflix. :o <--dork

:lol: That episode was great.

One of our friends is a huge slashy fangirl who makes millions of comments about how Duncan and Methos (and every other man in the show except for Joe) are all on the down low with each other. It's so bad that when another friend with no prior "Highlander" knowledge joined us, she leaned over between episodes and whispered, "So, are those guys really..."

My answer was, "Only in C's head."

My husband insists that in 4,000 years Methos has never once touched another man like that. I am doubtful about that (it's a looong time, after all) but he doesn't seem to get any action from anyone in the series anyway.

Ooh, I forgot we all love Fitzcairn almost as much as Methos, even if Roger Daltrey looks kind of like he's made of rubber. :headscratch:

And it looks like Peter Wingfield shows up way late in Stargate, so I'll have to wait until we get to those seasons. ;)
