So I was wondering, I know that some call centers require employees to say the whole script no matter what (ie. interrupt and it starts over) but sometimes I feels like I waste the time of the poor employees saying the same thing over and over (ie. mandatory to try but not necessary to finish wording).

How do I know or at least guess without being rude which one it is. Most of the time I don't need that specific product or service but I feel rude/and or wasting the persons time.

This may seem like a silly question but I've never worked in a call center and I don't want to prevent someone from doing their job but I don't want to waste their time either.

Thanks for any input!!

I say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested, goodbye," and hang up. I'm not going to be rude to them, but I also don't listen to telemarketer spiels. Ever. This way neither their time nor mine is wasted, and I also don't ruin their day.
