So..Im in the process of gaging my ears...I'll still pretty small, at a 12g...I CANT for the life of me, get a 10 in. At all! nothing works. Im using the horseshoes with the balls in the end (yes, I am taking the balls off before I put them in!!)
I have the horseshoe set down to 8g, and I only bought them b/c I got a nice little set (from 16g - 8g) for cheap. Should I consider using talons or tapers instead? I dont have an insertion set, should I consider buying one? I am going to a 0, but dont know if that would be a good investment or not...
Anyhelp would be appreciated...my ears are sore.!

My trick... Take your 12s and put a layer of electrical tape on them, where they sit in your ears, just big enough so that you can get them in without it hurting to stretch. Leave 'em for a while (a week or so, whatever you feel comfortable with), and then repeat until you can get to your ten.
Electrical tape is easy to clean and doesn't hold germs, plus you can customize sizes this way.
Hope it helps!

Easiest way I found was to do it how I did (I'm at a 6g now). Buy the packs that have tapered rings, or tapered spikes. that way, you can slip it in, and just push a little bit more to gauge it out.
Hope this helps!

Go to a piercer, they have what it take to taper to the size you need.

Back in the day when I was awesome, I gauged a cartildge piercing. I always went to the piercer and he'd lube up the taper and I'd feel little to no pain at all. I got it down to a 10-gauge before I let it heal completely. Yeah, I used to be awesome... :p
