More computer help needed - pretty please!!

Just got 2 new "his 'n' her" rigs, and we seem to be having some issues with one of them (although they are identical).

We got Windows XP, Visual Basic, SQL Server, and all the other boring, work-related stuff to load to "his" PC, but we can't get the fun stuff (WoW, UT2004) to load!! Each time we try it stops on a seemingly random MPQ file, and as this has been going on for 3 days now, it's getting a little frustrating!!!

We've checked the BIOS/CMOS setup, updated drivers for all the hardware, and re-partitioned and re-formatted...now, we're stuck. Any ideas??

Seems to me the "his" DVD reader is more sensitive or is crapping out. I got a computer with a DVD/CD burner that will read fine, but only burn CD. It craps out when it tries to burn DVD.

I would try to "share" the "her" DVD reader and install on "his" via that PC. You can turn off all that "file sharing" after you're done. Just to get the stuff installed.
