I know that this will get some groans, but i'm getting excited for the holidays. I LOVE them, and its been cooler and rainy here, so it makes it seem even later in the year. i've already my my shopping list so i can pick up one or 2 things each grocery trip between now and thanksgiving, and i've decided to have movie night be the theme of my christmas baskets this year. (last year i did bean bag chairs, blankets and matching pillows for all the nieces/nephew. before that i did family baskets, one year bbq theme and the next hot drinks like tea, cocoa etc)
i can't wait... i'm such a nerd... but i just love holidays, i don't even know why, i can't wait when we have kids and we can make sugar cookie santas... ooooo
trish runs away giddily

i also looove the holidays. I'm the only person I know who doesn't start groaning when the Christmas decorations go up in stores in September. The best thing about Christmas is that this one little corner bakery downtown sells fresh cinnamon gingerbread men in the shapes of various well known holiday characters. I love those things, I could eat them every day all year. :p

I love the holidays, too. Yes, I work in retail. Yes, I am sane.

I've always had a fondness for the holiday season. I know I'm looking forward to getting the house decorated for Halloween soon, then Christmas.
But then, what can you expect from a woman who has left her Christmas tree up ALL YEAR?
Yes, I'm still in retail.
No, I'm not sure if I'm sane.

I think most retail employees would enjoy the holidays more if they didn't have to listen to the same twenty cheesy holiday songs, over and over and over ad nauseum, as well as dealing with stupid singing toys and the other tacky nonsense that comes with the holidays.
I do enjoy Christmas. I think I would like to have a "white Christmas" at least once. Christmas lights on saguaros are pretty, but it's not very Currier and Ives.

I look forward to a lot of the novelty menus that come out at various restaurants this time of year. I'm a total sucker for anything pumpkin: lattes, Blizzards, ice cream, anything. Yum. The gingerbread lattes are one of my favorites, too.
Mmmmmm.......

 A local ice cream parlor, Mary Coyle's, has a pumpkin pie ice cream that is just marvelous. I fell in love with it in college. If you're visiting Phoenix in the winter months, go check it out.

I love the fall/winter. My family (well, my mom's side) doesn't really do the whole Christmas thing. I can understand that, since my grandmother is mean, passive-aggressive, self-centered and is even moreso when that holiday rolls around (one of these days I'll repost about the year when my cousins--too young for such coolness--got Lego Mindstorms and I got junkmail freebies in an old shopping bag).
I partake in the ofttimes-insane sport of selling toys to the frantic masses on ebay and Amazon (tis Christmas for me when I sell a ton).
Trader Joe's now has pumpkin and green tea (yummy!) bread mixes. I also picked up a container of pumpkin spice mix with the sole purpose of adding to home-brewed coffee :D
Oooo, gingerbread lattes...I should reload my Starbucks card.

I can't wait for the holidays either. We already have christmas stuff up at work. I was actually surprised by it...I thought it was too early for the Halloween stuff we have out. But I can't wait for the holidays. I love going shopping for gifts. And I'm actually excited about the radio stations playing Christmas music. There is one station that begins playing Christmas music right after Thanksgiving and it's nothing but christmas music they play. As for the music at work...the store gets so loud that I can't even hear it.
