Road Trip!!

Woo hoo!! I'm finally taking a 'mini' vacation this summer... a bunch of my friends and I are driving from NC to OH for our friend's wedding. We're all leaving at separate times this Friday, but we'll meet up that night to hang at the hotel bar and then the wedding is Sat afternoon with a 6 hour open bar reception. Can anyone say LOOOOONG 8 hour drive back on Sunday?

But it'll be worth it. I'm looking forward to it. Yay!

I'll post any sightings I see on the trip, of course.

Have fun, but I have to say that 8 hours is NOT a long drive. Roadtripping, my personal limit was 15 hours or 800 miles, whichever came first. My personal record was 820 miles, driving alone, and by the end of that, I was starting to see things.

1,572 miles in 20 hours. Nearly 4 hours less then the estimated timeline.

At one time. The only stops I made were for Gasoline and to eat.

Alone.

I wouldn't advise that long of a trip in one shot again. But it was fun.

Well...ok, it's a short road trip...I've driven to NY city...took 12 hours....and back in one weekend. That was fun. Granted, I wasn't by myself, but still.
Also went to Ft Lauderdale, and Orlando on two separate occasions.

When I was about 9, my parents drove me, my sister and brother cross-country from NC to Cali. Took 3 days...almost non-stop driving, just stopping to eat, get gas, and use the bathroom. That was shall we say, interesting?

Edit: the trips to Orlando & NY were 12 hours one way...the trip to NY went like this: drove up Thurs night, got back Sunday night. Was only in NY for a day and a half, basically. I've driven to NY 3 times. But of course, the other times were for a week.
