OK...now that I have pictures, I want to share something with the board.

I think you all know the tremendous loss (http://www.customerssuck.com/board/showthread.php?t=30485) that I recently suffered.
You were all so supportive and wonderful, and I was reminded of what a great group of people we have here.

It warmed my heart and brought me so much comfort to read all the messages of hope left for me when we were praying my husband would pull through, but then, when we knew there was no more hope, the messages of support and sympathy began. Always, when I was at my lowest, I could come here and know that a pretty terrific group of people from all walks of life with so many different faiths and spiritual beliefs were keeping me in their thoughts.
Even people with whom I haven't always seen eye to eye or had the best rapport offered support. (Those ones brought tears to my eyes because they were so special.)

Some of you sent cards.
Some phoned me and I even got text messages. Some made donations to the requested charities in my husband's name. Some left messages in the online guestbook.

I will treasure you guys always because of that.

Well, a few weeks ago, I got a box in the mail.

I didn't recognize the return address.
I opened it up to find the most gorgeous handmade quilt, and a card that simply said, "Your friends at CS.com"

I cried.

I have figured out who was behind it, and I have thanked them privately, so I will protect their privacy and I won't ruin it by giving away their name.

I just wanted to share pictures of it with everyone else so they can see it, and see how well it matches my new bed and my room.

I love you guys.

That brought a tear to my eye. My condolences for your loss, I guess I must be new. :o

That is the most beautiful, touching gift I have ever seen. Kudos to the person or person(s) responsible for their hard work, and great big heart.

Oh...wow.

That's beautiful. The quilt as well as the gesture. Mystery Quilter, that was really, really something that you did. I am in awe.

Ree, I am glad that you are finding some comfort. I think of you often, and I hope you're doing okay. I know it must help knowing there are people out there who maybe you never met in person, but they are friends and they care.

That quilt is GORGEOUS. There is nothing as comforting as a homemade quilt. Major kudos to the quilter!

Good Lord, the Mystery Quilter must have really worked their tail off on that. My MIL is a quilter and she works very quickly on hers, usually several hours a night, about 3-5 nights a week year round, yet most take at least two months to make.

Yes--but more than that, bless all of CS.com.

That quilt symbolizes the community that this place is. Not to take anything away from the person or people who made it--what they did cannot be complimented enough--but it goes beyond that.

When it really comes down to it, that quilt comes symbolically from every one of us to you, Ree. It's patterned with our love and stitched together with our souls. Because of that, it will keep you warm not just from the winter cold outside your door, but also from any chills that come from within.

So bless all of CS.

And bless you, Ree.

Jester you forgot to add a mascara alert (darn not able to wear waterproof)

Ree - Thank you for sharing photos of such a beautiful piece with us.

Mystery Quilter you are talented and big hearted. Thank you for acting on behalf of the posters and providing our beloved Ree with something to help express what we were not able to express so beautifully ourselves.

Jester you forgot to add a mascara alert (darn not able to wear waterproof)

Okay, I know I live in Key West, but I am a straight guy who has only ever worn makeup for Halloween, other costume events, or as cast in a haunted house. I don't know the first thing about mascara, and honestly, never thought about it.

Okay, enough of this. Back to the guest of honor, Ms. Ree.

I'm sorry I wasn't told of this! I'm very sorry for your loss, Ree, but you're a very strong woman, and I admire you handling the situation.

We all need help sometimes, and that's what this board is all about. It's more than just stories of crappy workdays, or sucky people. It's about getting together every night and talking about our days, it's about relating with people all over the world. It's about a place outside of our own lives where we can let down our guard, and just be friendly.

Mystery Quilter, you've done a tremendous deed here, and I can't thank you enough for showing that even in the darkness, our inner light shines bright.

Ree, thanks for sharing that wonderful gift, I hope the warmth it brings warms not only your body, but your soul as well.
