Happy Birthday to me!

October 1 was my birthday! (YAY me!) I turned 34.

Went to the Maryland Renn Faire yesterday with hubby. My parents volunteered to take care of Kelly for the day. It was fun! We saw the Medival Babes (a UK group that was there only for the weekend). They were AWESOME! OMG ... We bought all 5 of their CDs!

I even got a new "wenches" outfit. I couldn't find the top I normally wear so hubby took me to Unicorn Clothing (one of the MANY clothing stores at the Faire - and the only one where I can find I can squeeze my plus-sized body into their GORGEOUS clothing). I got me a new top (It's the Jezebel style - basically a tube top with sleeves), a new bodice, a new overskirt AND a new underskirt! I am worth it! LOL

I also got a print of one of my favorite artists of all time. The print is called the Fiddler and it's by the artist: R. Wayt Smith. (He's also done the all the artwork for a new collectible card game/board game called "Pit Fighter").

Heck, I even found out I like Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat drink. (And I don't even like beer or largers or ale, but there was a beer tasting yesterday and the Cherry Wheat was one of the items being tasted). I'm venturing out ... doing more things .... I'm actually maturing! Oh no! :)

Hubby did buy the costume for me. But I got to pick it out all by myself. (Well, with help from hubby & the shop wench). LOL ... I started off with a beige top with a jeweled bodice (which reverses to a solid green) and a black underskirt with beige overskirt. I got the jeweled bodice, but the top is burgundy, the overskirt is black and the underskirt is green. Plus, I've gone down 1 whole bodice size! YAY!

HAHAHAHAHA! That's where I got my moniker from! I LOVE the Pyrates Royale! I've been fans of theirs for about 10 years. They are ALWAYS at the Maryland Rennaisance Faire! They perform at the White Heart Tavern. (Which is the preferred tavern of choice for hubby and friends when they go - so if you see a bunch of Templar Knights, you've seen hubby and company). The "I Drink a Rum" song by them was inspired by one of Bob Marley's songs (just can't remember the name of the song right now).

Thanks to everyone who has wished me a Happy Birthday! It was a great one. I'm (trying) to convince my husband that I actually have a Birthday Week. It starts on the actual day of my birthday and goes straight to 12 Midnight on October 7. He's not buying it though. What a meanie! LOL

Tell him that it's your week, and if he doesn't like it, tough. Then tell him you need to be taken out to a nice dinner someplace. Doesn't have to be super fancy, but someplace with candles on the table. Then give him tons of hugs for doing it. :)
Birthday week, I'm gonna have to remember that one.
