And I can't say that I've had a story or characters that gripped me that much since I played Xenogears. I can't really explain why, except that the characters were so well developed that I felt like I was there, enjoying their company and being a part of their story. It felt like reading a good book and reaching the last sentence, realizing that there is no "the end" on the last page. I got such a feeling of fulfillment that it made me realize just how rare it is to find in a game, and also how lasting it is.

So for anyone who has played it, I agree with your reference. For anyone that hasn't that is into RPGs, I suggest getting a copy to play (PSX version preferably) and play it to completion. You won't regret it.:angel:

XENOGEARS! Oh man, I loved that game.. I still have my copy, I pop it in every once in a while, though disc 2 just seems like "Story Time with Fei and Elly" to me...

I haven't played Lunar since the Sega CD... oh, those were the days.

Yeah, disc 2 on Xenogears was a sort of let down at first. Squaresoft basically was running out of money and time and had to cut out a lot of stuff. That's why it was like storytime.

I've been replaying Xenogears, as it's been 10 years now that it's been released!

I need to find my Lunar games and replay them...it's been so long. It really is such sweet story and great game. They did a good job with the dialogue and voice acting. *wonders where her games are at*

Imagine if Xenogears were a PC game, then the modding community could have added the stuff in that was originally cut out. That's just a crazy dream, though.

They DID do that with Fallout 2, fleshing out many different stories and adding in characters...not to mention a way to get those bastard thieving kids in the Den to stop stealing your stuff.

Now I want to play both of the Lunar games I own for PSX. ^_^x

Oh, man! Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete roxxored my boxxors... The evil female (Yes, I remember her name and such, but it's a spoilery thing for those who haven't played it) made my skin tingle at how absolutely beautiful her voice is. Particularly in THAT SCENE! I need to find that clip again...
The fan service leaned way too heavily toward naked women... otherwise, it was fun.

Oh, I loved Lunar Silver Star Story! I haven't played it in almost 10 years, though. The anime is just gorgeous. And who couldn't love Nall, the little winged kitty on Alex's shoulder?

After you "beat" it, play all the way through the epilogue. The fights are hard, but the real ending is worth the struggle. :D

I love the two Lunar games (the portable games are dead to me). Very linear, but they still made me want to finish them to see how the story turned out. Lunar 2 had a couple of plot twists that just floored me.
