Anyone know how to hack the idiot coffee pot? Tried looking it up and am only tempted to purchase the USB coffee warmer (Alas, I am computerless at my house) as I was unable to locate how to hack anything but the coke machine (again).
I have not slept, or have slept very badly for the past three or so nights (everything's starting to run together and my language skills at work is suffering) so I need a pick-me-up before work.
Help? Please? I'll make a fantastic Roast for anyone that wants it.

Why are you trying to hack a coffee pot? What's wrong with it?

Temp doesn't get hot enough to make that really good coffee of mine taste like SUPER FANTASTICAL coffee.

You still have a teapot right?
Boil water.
Put a coffee filter in a funnel or a small colinder.
Place over mug.
Pour hot water over coffee grounds.
You know have a coffee maker without the fancy cover. If you want stronger coffee, filter the coffee through the grounds again. Works pretty damned well really.

My teapot died. Leaked all over the place from one of the seams. Still haven't been able to replace it, yet. Wanted to get an electric model.
Crap, gotta go to work. See ya later.

Hopefully you'll see this post eventually then.
Heat the water in the microwave?

What you are looking for, is a potentiometer to turn up the level of induction based heat production. In English, the "hotter" button. That doesn't exist in most coffee pots made these days. Most coffee makers are Drip brewer types How it works is here.. (http://www.howstuffworks.com/coffee-maker.htm) As it shows on page three, you can disable the temperature setting or replace it with a higher set gauge.. but that seems beyond what you want to do.
There are also Vacuum coffee potsVac FAQ (http://www.coffeekid.com/coffee/vacpots/vacpotfaq) . They are available, but tend to be more expensive. Amongst coffee snobs they are considered vastly Superior to drip.
Another cheaper idea is to get a Coffee percolator (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-coffee-percolators.htm) This will get your beverage PIPING hot, but it takes a good while to brew.
There is lastly a relatively cheaper option of using a press pot. http://coffeegeek.com/guides/presspot

Oh shush Al. When you have no other alternative, instant is just as fine. Besides, RW uses so much Splenda and milk it's not even coffee anymore.
It's caffeinated milk.

Here's a good way to make instant coffee taste good:
Mix a mugful of water and milk, in either 1:1 or 2:1 ratio for taste.
Transfer to small saucepan (or possibly microwave) and heat, but *not* until boiling.
CAUTION: Allowing it to boil will make a big, foamy, burnt-smelling mess. Keep an eye on it. When it has a decent number of small bubbles on the surface and is steaming very slightly, it's done.
Transfer back to mug on top of coffee and sugar to taste.
Stir and serve. Enjoy a smooth and creamy taste, with all of the caffiene and coffee-ness you can reasonably expect from instant.

Why not?

The very coolest people on the planet use Splenda and lots of creamer in their coffee.

RetailWorkhorse, I was thinking the same thing! We all know that most everyone on this board has a very dirty mind and is wondering what the downside to Crazeyal's comment is. ;)

I've been thinking and the only thing about being vibrated to death would be the teeth chattering, and the possibility of biting your tongue, but that's easily cured with a mouth guard....or someone else's tongue in your mouth.

But why? It makes coffee so delectible.

Because the Huddle House was out of creamer at the time and didn't get any in for almost two weeks.

No, it was built and burned long before Youtube existed. My dad (the one who built it) warned me not to connect it to a double adapter but I didn't listen. Fortunately it was outside at the time.
