Normally I don't complain about businesses, but:

BK
Wooper Jr. $1
9 cheesy tator tots (drool) $1.69
ICEE $1.39

I was charged $5.17. While I digged in my purse, the woman go my ICEE and when I payed her she didn't give me a receipt. I thought I might have stuck it in my purse with the change, but I coudln't find it.

GEt to work and see he recepit on the bag:

1 MD.WPJR.VM 4.19
1 W.CHEESYTS .39
1 VL PZ CHER .39

Total 5.17.
I do the math for the ind. items and it was 4.08. I get charged a value meal and "extras".

This particular BK isn't near my home, so I decided to complain to the coperate office. The website doesn't have an email form but does have the address and phone number that isn't 1-800.

I'm so used to companies having a form to fill out online or email address that I'm surprised BK doesn't have that. I did a little searching at the library for an 1-800 but now luck.

You need to take that in and tell management. I do a whopper junior, side salad, and small icee... always comes to 3.70. By chraging you the meal plan she probably thought she was saving you money but instead cost you more.

Also remember they charge tax.

I called the manager. Manager pretty much said what you did, about ordering a value meal would save me money, so that is why the cashier ran it like that. But after doing the math (with tax, without tax), and without tax it's 89 cents diff. Yes, after doing the math (or sort of) the manager did notice that there was diff., but he said it was a $.40 or $.50 diff. He did offer to me a free meal (same stuff) but I was just passing by that BK, I doubt I will take the time to go back.

Yes, again, I get she thought a value meal would be cheaper than the ind. price, but since a wopper jr. is on the value meal for $1, it isn't cheaper as a value meal.

Oh, a survey number on back of the receipt. I wonder if I should call.

My beef was mostly that the corp. office doesnt' have an email. Granted, BK is a franchise organization.

I would call, it could make a chink in this whole idea that thevalue meals are cheaper as a whole when in fact, sometimes and a lot of times they aren't.

Call the 1-800 number to lodge your complaint. Granted it is a corporate number not to that specific franchise but it will work its way done the chain. I know that when I worked at burger king way back when rocks were soft this got things done.

It goes from the call center where the complaint is lodged, to the franchise owners corporate office (if they own multiple locations they will have a offsite office where they handle the day to day business operations such as payroll, taxes, and other normal bullshit), the owner will pass it down to the DM (district manager) who will deal with his/her management team (possibly in all their stores) who will deal with the staff.

Owners do not want crap like this to go on. They want their staff to be trained not to make boneheaded mistakes like that. And its foolish mistakes like that, that cause people to treat employees like shit anyways. Better to get it taken care of now.

The website and databases don't provide 1-800 numbers ore emails. The number behind the receipt is fro a survey, which I imagine is run by another company and the results will be sent to BK.

I talked to the manager, and maybe that is all is needed. Yes, I would like to call/write corp. but I don't want to spend money on long-distance or a stamp.
