Just got an invitation to a baby shower for C and B on January 31st. Yep, we received it 1 week before the shower. Afterthought much?
The shower is being held in my husband's hometown (also C's hometown) on January 31st. Which just happens to be my husband's birthday. B might not have known the dates coincided, but C certainly would have. I suspect he agreed to that date hoping my husband would be in town visiting his family; C probably feels this is the only way he will ever see my husband again due to B's increasingly controlling behavior. It's a co-ed shower, I guess, and we are both invited.
Well, he'll be disappointed. We WILL be in town visiting my husband's family. We will NOT be attending the baby shower.
The last thing my husband wants to do on his birthday is go to a baby shower. The last thing I want to do on my husband's birthday is spend any time with B. So we're not telling them we'll be in town.
I'm planning to go shopping this weekend with my MIL for some maternity clothes, so I'm a little nervous about running into B or C or C's parents or mutual friends or whoever. But I kind of also want that to happen, just so they'll know we're avoiding them.
I'm such a bitch.
