Wherein Irv nearly creams a jogger

It's actually a fairly nice day today, and I ventured out for a few minutes to mail a package. (I sold my bottle of cologne for over $10 more than this guy (http://www.customerssuck.com/board/showthread.php?t=45952) offered me. :bounce:)

On the way to the post office, there is a stoplight, and there was a car in front of me. I could also see a jogger running up the cross street.

The light turned green as the jogger was approaching the intersection, and the car in front of me went through the intersection. The jogger reached the intersection just as I was about to pass through it.

Did she stop on the corner for me, because I had the green light and she had a big honkin' DONT WALK sign staring her in the face? Hell no! She kept right on going, right in front of me, forcing me to slam on my brakes and lean on the horn, but I doubt she heard me because like a lot of jogger, she had earbuds in her ear blasting music from an iPod or MP3 player.

God forbid her hear rate should have to go down. :mad:

And if I would've hit her, I might've been the one at fault since she was in a marked crosswalk! Life isn't fair, I tell you. :no:

You really want to induce a stroke or cardiac arrest, or at the very least, shit your drawers, come ride with me one day on the main drag.....most of the time it's just one or two yoohoos but sometimes it's big groups, like kids, who don't wait to clear traffic and just go running across 6 lanes of 45 mph traffic.

Unless you have some wierd local laws*, crossing at a crosswalk against the light is jaywalking. Of course, you'd still need a witness saying you had the light. Better safe than sorry, I guess.


* We do have a local area where I live where pedestrians have the right of way always. I still bow to Mr. Newton when I'm walking in the area.
