I take regular (generic) Ambien occasionally for sleep. I know this is a fast acting med, but about 15 minutes after I took it tonight, i threw up a little due to getting a whiff of some rotten food in my fridge. TMI TMI alert

I threw up the pop I drank to wash the Ambien down, and some marshmallows I ate about an hour ago, I didn't seem to find a pill in there, plus no bitter taste. Can I safely assume it had already been dissolved and into my bloodstream?

Is there a 24-hour pharmacy near you? You might try calling them and asking a pharmacist directly.

I'm not certain how long it takes to dissolve. I do know if it is Ambien CR then one of the layers is intended to dissolve more slowly. If it is just plain Ambien then it will be more quickly. It is possible that some of the pill was combined with the liquid and just not able to be seen.

If you are worried that you did not get your appropriate dose, I'd definitely ask your pharmacist. That is what they are there for, med counseling! :)

Speak to your, (or any) pharmacist, they will be able to help you.

I'm sure you can find a 24hr pharmacy open, or a healthcare line that you can talk to. :)

thanks guys. I started feeling the effects of the Ambien not soon after typing that so I went straight to bed. The pharmacist and the label both warn that it is a fast acting med and they are right lol. I figured they had dissolved, because they are very bitter and thought I'd taste it coming up but I didn't.
