Driving on the freeway to work this morning...
Now here in SA, our fast lane is the right lane. Three lanes on the highway.
Car in the middle lane starts changing into the right (fast) lane. Obviously that car did NOT check their mirror as there was a motorbike in that lane - with it's lights on, so it's not like they couldn't see him.
So the car starts changing, basically cutting off the bike. The bike then swerves into the middle lane, leans over and PUNCHES THE MIRROR OUT OF THEIR SIDE MIRROR.

Both of them were sucky and damn stupid. Oy

actually, I'm all for the motorcyclist in this case.

An old roommate of mine punched out the passenger side window of a car once after they cut him off. He had to swerve so hard to avoid getting hit his leg touched the road, and actually tore a hole in his jeans... he was surprised he was able to even get himself back upright.

So ya... you nearly kill a guy on a motorcycle and all you get away with is a broken mirror or window? Consider yourself lucky.

I can easily understand a motorist not seeing a motorcycle - some of them can't even see 18 wheelers. I encountered one of those idiots a couple days ago.

I was on I80 in New Jersey (4 lanes each way at this point) with over 40,000 pounds of cargo. Due to numerous on/off ramps, I was in the 2nd lane. A black Maxima (for some reason, that model and colour tends to attract absolute idiots) had just entered from an on ramp, and was doing roughly half my speed. He proceeds to immediately pull into the 2nd lane, cutting me off so close that if I'd jammed on the brakes, I would still have hit him. Fortunately, the 3rd lane was empty, so I was able to make a lane change and try to pass him. Note the "try" part - he then immediately changed into the 3rd lane, cutting me off again. By this time, he'd accelerated enough that I was able to brake to avoid hitting him. Of course, there were signs along the highway "Keep right except to pass" - until you've accelerated to highway speed, you're not passing anyone, so stay in the slow lane.

Ugh, I hate those people who get on the freeway and then immediately move into the faster lanes, regardless of the fact that they are not going nearly fast enough, and that there are people who are already in those lanes.

It's not that they don't see other cards, it's that they never even look.

^-.-^

Yup my husband just got sideswiped by a ford minivan-he was directly beside her when she decided to change lanes without looking-and of course no insurance
