At Gamestop...if you... have a gamestop locally, you know that we buy back used games and equipment. Well it's like my third or fourth day, and I got maybe an hour before I closed, so I was happy I didn't fuck anything up.

These guys come in with like five games, and a PS2 they wanna trade in.

"Will can you handle that?" the Assistant Manager calls to me.

Eh-heh... I take a breath, and go about it. I've done games, but never a system, I'km working, a bit slow since I'm new to the system, but I get through it.

"Okay, would you like store credit or to pick something up?"

"I want cash."

I stare at him. "Oookay, it's like, 20 percent less than store credit." Whew, I got it right.

"I don't mind."

This point I call over AM, cause I have NO idea how to do a cash exchange. He says ID is required. The boy doesn't HAVE ID. Well GRAND.

So I cancel the WHOLE thing out, and run it under his buddy who does have ID. I do it all over again, do the cash thing, give him the money.

They come back two minutes later.

"Dude, you forgot to give us four dollars."

 .... Oh crap, I DID. So, AM comes back, the guys are essentially heckleing me. "I can't believe this, is this a prank? Where's the TV cameras?" Essentially making me feel about as worthy as dirt.

The register is locked, and can't be opened. Have to wait till the next transaction.

"Cha-CHUNG" The sound of the second register CLOSING. Fuuuuuck

"Oh man come on...Are you serious? Where's the cameras?"

I finally get another sale, give them their money, and they walk off. The AM consols me about not letting the customer get to you.. Yeah.. I screwed up. :(

Ack, I know that feeling. Cash trade-ins are usually more complicated because they're much more strict; I think it's cause the store is using its license as a pawnshop to do it. *rambles*

I would've just glared at them for being rude to you about it. It was an honest mistake, right? Not really a big deal...

I work at a similar store, but thankfully we only offer credit for trades.
