ok so on my way to work everyday theres this intersection

the road im on...my side there's 2 lanes. the left one only goes left. while the right can go left straight or right.

the road i turn left onto is 3 lanes. the first two line up with the other roads two lanes. if u wanna go in the third youd be in the right lane lol if this makes any sense.

since i wanna be in the middle i stay in the right lane to turn left. (they line up)

yet EVERY SINGLE DAY someone in the left lane decides to cut over in front of me to get in that third lane after they turn. WTF. ive learned to take off slowly from that light to lessen the risk of me getting hit.

ugh. people!

ALSO

i was behind a car the other day that had a sticker that said support wind energy. i thought "yea cool!" then they turned w/o their signal.

then i said "i need a sticker that says i support turn signal use"

i really wanna get one.

I want a bumper sticker that says, "Your child is an honor student...You must have a pretty smart milkman".

I like the sticker available for Land Rovers and Volvos that says "Your Skid Stops Here" - and points to the towbar.

The road coming out of the local shopping center used to have a similar problem. I'll describe it as best I can. When you're coming down the main road that runs along the front of the shopping center, you come down to an intersection. Going straight takes you up to another section. Going left takes you to the exit. Now, it used to be that coming down to this intersection, there were two lanes. The left lane, when you turned left towards the exit, became two lanes. One went straight or left, the furthest left was left only onto the high way. The right lane remained one lane, and was for turning right from the exit only. Separating the two lanes and the one lane was a heavy white stripe. The signage was very clear. Want to go on West 50? Take the left lane. Want to go to East 50? Take the right lane. It wasn't rocket science.

Still, every time you'd have someone who got into the right lane, realized that it was only going to let them turn right, and would try to cut over that line so they could turn left onto West 50. Although they were in the wrong, they would honk and scream at you if you refused to let them in. (Gee.. I wonder how I knew that.) Finally, the geniuses at the DOT realized the mess this was making, and made the intersection three lanes to three lanes. The left lane matches the original left lane, the middle lane that was the old right lane now matches the lane that could turn left or straight, and the new right lane matches up with the right turn lane. Problem solved... mostly. For some people, you just can't cure stupidity. But, the issue of people not reading signs or road markings has been alleviated for the most part at that intersection.

I think sometimes, even if they made roadsigns out of flashing neon signs with cycling lights and strobes, people still wouldn't see them or read them.

Oh, they see them. They just don't think that the signs apply to them. 'Cause you know, they're "speshul".

One sighting I had as I was naturally, on my way home from work was that I was in a right lane where you can either go straight or turn right, and the car in front of me was waiting for people in the crosswalk legally, and the idiot in the huge SUV a couple of cars behind me started to honk, then he went into the lane next to me, and decided to turn right, after the light had already turned red.

As far as bumper stickers go, the first time I saw "My<insert breed of dog> is smarter than your honor student," I . One sticker I really want that a friend of mine has says, "Safety first. Don't tailgate."

then i said "i need a sticker that says i support turn signal use"

On my first car, there was a bumper sticker that read "Never mind visualizing world peace, visualize USING YOUR TURN SIGNAL."

Years ago, some fathead (and I mean literally, he had a :censored: huge melon on his shoulders... topped by a mullet) in a Camaro (see, the "mullet" was important :p ) nearly clipped off my front end by cutting in front of me in the "fast" lane, and flipped me the bird, apparently because of that sticker.

This was on the open interstate, and he had plenty of room in either lane, so it's not like he couldn't have just blown past me without commentary.
