Anyone know a good online radio service that works in Canada (so no Pandora, unfortunately), and has a huge selection of 60s/70s/80s songs (rock preferred, but I'm not hugely picky)? Paid is fine, as long as it's not massively expensive. I'm looking for something to listen to at work, so no downloads required is best.

www.wolfgangsvault.com - a lot of classic concerts from the Bill Graham vaults.

Listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1975 right now. All free and legal. :)

Licensing.

Thanks Bandit, I'll give that a look-see.

Edit: I should mention, I've already listened to AOL Radio, so much so that I subconsciouly know the playlist order on some stations.

Try slacker.com?

Not sure if it works in Canada, but Its pretty good. You either put in an artist or genre and it handles the rest.

I use the iTunes software that came with my iPod. So nice to turn on and listen to 1970s tunes all day :) Not just the more-common "hits" either--there's always something new to listen to.

I used to listen to (and actually had a paid membership to) Live365.com (http://www.live365.com/index.live). They have a ton of stations with almost any genre you can image.

Think I'm kidding, they not only have J-Pop, but even have a Filk station.

Yea, I have bizarre tastes in music.

I use live365 for my rockabilly fix. They do limit your total listening time w/o the membership though.

Can you not stream your favorite station?

Here at home, I usually go to WXRT's or WDRV's (Their "Deep Cuts" alternative stream is exactly what you're looking for, actually.) websites and just crank that through the stereo.

The radio stations here suck. They either play crap or they spend 45 minutes out of the hour on ads and yammering.

Start with http://www.wdrv.com/home.php then. "Listen" is on the far right I believe. If you don't care for the on air selection, I believe the alternate stream is Deep Cuts or Deep Tracks. Plays with flash. Next time you are around a machine w/ iTunes, take a look at their categories - it will give you some other good stations to scribble down and try.

Heh, if you like "world class rock" as they put it, you could always try KBCO.com (a Boulder, CO radio station). I tend to start listening to them online after Thanksgiving, to get my Christmas music fix in. :)
