I've enjoyed reading the posts here for quite a while. So much so, that I finally went and wrote up a little incident that happened a while back for your pursual; regarding the "Family Garoo". I'm posting that in the "Sucky Customers" forum.

Please pardon the geographical ignorance, but where is "Muscat, Oman"? I tentatively guessed somewhere in Canada, based on spelling and vocabulary in your story, but could easily be wrong (geography not being a strong point for me).

Oman is not in Canada, to the best of my knowledge. It is (I believe) a country in the Middle East, on the Arabian Peninsula (That notch of land between Africa and Asia-Saudi Arabia dominates it). I'm not saying that you're not a Canadian, though. Expatriot, perhaps? Or you're there on a work visa of some sort?

Actually, I'm American as apple pie & napalm, but have lived overseas for the last 22 years. Currently I'm in the Middle East (Muscat, Oman is on the sunny southeastern shores of the Persian Gulf, directly east of Saudi Arabia and just a tad north and east of Yemen). I've lived in Colombia, South America, Calgary, Canada ('eh?), Kuwait City (guess where?), Doha, Qatar, and Moscow, Russia, to name but a few places where I had to have my mail re-directed. Still, thanks to the wonder of this Interweb thingy, I can still write up some of my adventures and share with the virtual world.

You started off strong, but it's been a while since we heard from you.

Last post I read was the hilarious joke you submitted about the desk clerk with the accent and the confused traveller.

It would be really great to read some of your own tales. Hope to see some soon. :)
