Ok, a friend of mine just IMed me, he works for a Cellular provider, he said that a customer came in and that his phone got wet... wait for it.... he tried letting it dry but nothing helped. So he put the phone in the microwave as to heat the water so it would evaporate.

Which when you think about it makes sense (so does beating this moron with a tack hammer.. but I digress), then the customer proceeds to demand that he fix his phone.

Customer has no insurance on the phone, it's definitely not something covered by the warranty. He said he dropped in the toilet.

Which provides this wonderful mental picture and the probablility of the guy standing infront of the toilet peeing, and losing grip on his phone, which you know if he had flushed, he probably wouldn't have his phone. So he put his hand in his own pee to retrieve his phone.. No to mention microwaved his phone, so not only did he damage the electronics in his phone, his phone was dipped in pee water, which now has residue in his microwave.

Ladies, if you date a guy that just got a recent phone replacement, don't eat over at his house, especially if it's a microwave meal, until it is scoured with bleach first.. {gag}

A few years ago I was in New York, and I visited the Empire State Building.
While I was standing in the lobby I started up a conversation with one of the maintenance workers, and asked him what the number one maintenance problem was with the building....know what it was?

People flushing their cell phones and pagers down the toilet and clogging the pipes with them.

There was a news story a long time ago involving a guy who dropped a cell phone in a toilet.

This guy in Africa stole someone's cell phone. He went to this public bathroom, the type that has toilets that are just a toilet that sits on a pit. Well he dropped the cell phone into the toilet, crawled down in the pit to retrieve it, and *drowned.* I am not making this up! Talk about karma!

Why I hate Metro PCS and all those other talk-as-much-as-you-want flat-rate services:

1. Many of the people who buy these services are "in the life." They believe that regular run-ins with the authorities are a normal way of life and like to inform everyone by cellphone, in public, of the injustice of it all.

2. They never shut up. This includes restrooms.

3. They have vocabularies existing almost exclusively of: a'ight, you know, that's right, m_____f________, f***, f***er, damn, you right and where y'at. This applies to all races and sexes (I live near San Francisco).

4. Most of them are physically unable to walk and talk at the same time, yet they insist on attempting this several times a day.

5. They hold up lines at stores because they won't put down their phones long enough to answer the store employee's questions.

6. They especially cannot drive and talk at the same time, although they often assist on attempting this.

7. They have absolutely nothing to say. See 3. above. Yet they insist on attempting to say something all day.

8. They cannot carry on a conversation below 90 decibels. And, no, none of us stuck on BART with you are the least bit interested.

9. Standing in the rain without an umbrella, jacket, hood, protection of any kind is normal. However, you will never find them without their cell phones.

Thank you for listening.
