I just spent a hour printing one out and putting it together.... and then dragging my kids out of bed to see it!

It works really, really well. If you set it on a table about three feet high and light it from the side you can get within a couple feet of it and the illusion holds. Close one eye and you can get withing a few INCHES.
It was really easy to make... just needs a bit of care with the cutting and folding, but the instructions are quite clear.

I just made the K9 version. Sometimes the illusion works, sometimes it doesn't. I suspect, however, that's due to my own bad eyesight (very nearsighted and astigmatic) as I also have difficulty with those Magic Eye-type illusions. :(

Have it at an angle and light it from the side... works much better.
