Winner for today!

Luser: So, I was wondering, do you shut down the servers on the weekend? I wanted to work from home.
Me: .... No... They're servers...?
Luser: Oh, ok. Thanks!

That just ... wait.. what? Logic? It's a weekend and the servers are taking a break?

oo oo question of the day:

SC: "Is porn bad for your computer the same way a virus is?"
ME: "...N...no"
SC: "Oh, alright (relieved exhalation). Ok. Bye!"

Context makes it better-

1) an old woman is right behind him in line and gets flustered after hearing the question. She watches him go, collects her thoughts, and asks some sweet question about solitaire

2) He goes to join what I can only guess was a wife or girlfriend, and goes off to buy things.

I often get asked if we sell Dell computers. No, we do not, but Dell does.

I also get asked if we sell Apple computers. Yes, we do, but corporate thinks Utah is a weak market for Apple, so we have to special order from our online assortment.

Today, someone combined those two questions: "So, where are your Dell Macs?" And I checked--they really wanted a computer manufactured by Dell but running Apple's Mac OS.

On another note: Bacter, is there a story behind your signature?

Actually, I believe you can run Mac OS X on a Dell or any other computer that isn't made by Apple itself. You just need a patch in order to pull it off. You can also run Windows on an Apple using a program called Paralells or Bootcamp. I don't know if it would work with Windows though.

ZOMG! You're in Utah! You sell Macs! Where are you in Utah? Will you marry me?

Question of the day: What will happen to my internet service if I disconnect the cables?

What she wanted to know, apparently, was if anything would go wrong if she unplugged her cables for 4 hours, and then plugged them back in.

I didn't ask what she was thinking....I didn't want to know.
