since i have been accepted into university this year (i start in about 5 weeks) i have started going to various social get togethers organized by the engineering department (who look after IT students)

background: my father in law's programming business is a highly desirable place for students to work, mostly because of the perks - they produce software for sports organisations (including olympic teams and even NBA and NHL teams). as a part of this there is alot of travel and attendance at the best sports events in the world.

i was taking to a 3rd year student (final year of undergraduate study) when the following took place. conversation was going well until this:

me: so what are you doing when you graduate? got anything lined up once you graduate?

S: yeah i'm going to work for (FIL's company)

m: really? sounds good. doing what?

S: programming and installations. what about you, where do you want to go once you graduate?

m: i'm off to FIL's company too. got a firm offer and i have not even started study

s: no you wouldn't. they don't do any offers until you have done 2 years of study.

m: well i'm a special case

s: what you a retard or something on a special access scheme?

m: no, i'm fu**king the owners daughter!

conversation ended there.... wonder why.

Did the student need some hot sauce for his toes? Or does he like to chew on his foot without condiments?

I'm wondering if he still has a job offer?

he does.. at the moment. but i'll be keeping a close eye on him..

in reference to the title - the almost owner bit is because one of the reasons i'm doing IT is because my father in law is getting prepared to retire and will split the company between me and my brother in law when i graduate.

Oh, OUCH. related to the owner (through blood or marriage) is bad enough for this twit. Dissing the FUTURE owner? Yeah, he isn't going to be having a good time of it.

Remember the old saying, "beware of the toes you step on today, they might be attached to the ass you kiss tomorrow."
