View Full Version : Stupid emo kids!

I went into Target the other day to look at their bedding stuff cause I just bought a new bed. This is the Target that I used to work at, so I know most of the staff there. The bedding department looked really trashed, and I soon realised why. This group of teenagers, with their stupid looking emo outfits, were throwing stuff at each other and pulling towels and things off the shelves and onto the floor.

Even though I don't work there, I was getting really pissed off. I don't wana have to sift through their mess to get to the stuff I want to buy. I mean, do they REALLY have to be in a store to have fun, can't they go to a park or the zoo where they freakin belong?

I gave them my evil look (which is usually very effective) and they reacted by throwing a pillow at ME!

ME = "What the fuck? What is wrong with you people?"

Stupid Emo Kid = "I like your hair..."

ME = "Well if you like it so much, don't throw shit at me....or i'll call security"

S.E.K = "You don't work here"

ME = "Oh but I used to, I have my sources..."

S.E.K = "Oh wow, her hair has purple through it, it's kool, I like it"

Me *sigh*

I carried on with my shopping and suddenly hear this loud SMASH!

The kids are running off real fast, and I see what has happened.

There are lamps lying smashed all over the tiled floor, and a pillow lay next to them. They'd obviously thrown it at the shelf and the lamps had fallen and smashed. I couldn't see any staff, so I went and called someone to fix it.

Stupid kids!

[Is having a hard time not singing the Emo song] Kids like that do belong to the zoo, but you'd think that them being teenagers they'd know better but they act like idiots.

But see, emo kids have a more difficult time finding their true place in life than most teens do. Emo kids have to make statements (and I'm not talking about unique/individual statements like everyone should make), but their statements are really contradicting, considering their "statements" are trends that nearly every other "lost" "sad" "hopeless" "depressed" teen is into.

Also, emo kids have a burning desire to let the entire world know just how damn sad, depressed, unwanted, used, abused, and disgusted that they are. I guess pulling stunts like this will get attention, hopefully to remove them from their pathetic emo existence and bring them back into teenage reality, if that even exists.

Yes, as you can tell, I despise emo kids.

"I wish my grass was emo. Then it would cut itself"

Here's a good link that has a few definitions (yes, i was really that bored).

emo (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=emo)

My favourite part is the example emo conversation -

girlfriend: C'mon, lets have sex.
boyfriend: I'm too sad to have sex.
girlfriend: I'm sad too; lets have sex and cry.
boyfriend: I'm already crying

Here's a funny one that describes emo: http://emosong.ytmnd.com/ I see them a lot at Target too. I've worked a few emo shows, but that's for another thread.

Well, in my experience it's not the Emo kids that you need to look out for, here in the UK we have something much worse. The CHAVS.

Basically a bunch of tracksuited, theiving, stupid, thuggish yobs. They even have an article on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav), and there's another site called Chav Scum (http://www.chavscum.co.uk) with better info on it.

The average Brit will get hassle off of these apes just by walking down the street, often for no reason what-so-ever. They may even get beaten or mugged, depending on how 'hard' the Chav thinks he is in his gang. They also like to vandalise shops and shoplift, and a trick of theirs was to smoke in the McD's toilets where I work and stub the cig out on the wall.

You see, Emo kids might lark about but they won't hurt anyone but themselves.

Soooo they're similar to the wannabe ghetto thugs that are commonly seen in the 'burbs here. These idiots dress similar to Chavs (at least in some cases). However, the vast majority wear pants that are 8 sizes too big, and usually falling down, walk around with a fake limp, and end every sentence with "you know what I'm sayin'?"

If they're so emo, why are they out in public playing games and having fun? Aren't they supposed to be at home burning candles and sticking their fingers in the wax or something?

Yep, they sound pretty similar. Trying to imitate the 'African American' culture. though I've noticed that Brit Chavs also have a racist streak to them. Ironic, really.

Also, Chavs seem to come from the poorer areas in Britain, rather than the suburbs.

dumb question here, but what are EMO kids ??

Pains in the ass :D

Actually, they're a bunch of kids who go around being sad and doing all they can to let everybody know they're sad. Or something. About ten years ago they'd probably be "grunge" and wearing flannel shirts and baggy pants instead of trying to squeeze into girls' jeans.

I found a good joke about them on urban dictionary:

How many emo kids does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None! They all cry in the dark.

Emos are pathetic wannabes that combine the worst parts of being a Goth with the worst of Punk and drown it all in angst. The best way to tell the difference between the groups (aside from music) is as follows:

Punks are rebelious, but much more hardcore and energetic. They prefer destruction of other things to self-destruction.

Goths have an affinity for the morbid and macabre, but they don't wallow in it. Dark colors are often accompanied by rich gem-tones, and many have much better fashon-sense.

NEITHER are as whiny and self-absorbed as Emos.

Oh, and from what has been said the CHAVs are actual thugs (coming from low-income areas, actual violence & theft, etc) rather than bad imitations like the american wigger.

I just had to reply to this ..

If you have read any of my threads, you will know that my last job is at a clothing store. What kind of clothing store? Well, it's a small, independently owned clothing store that sells .. you guessed it .. EMO clothing. So we get alot of those types at the store.

Most of them are nice, but some are .. well, sucky. From working with them so much, I have reached the conclusion that:

a. They make girls feel sorry for them so they can get laid.
b. They're walking around with this big dark cloud over their heads to further convince other people that yes, they are engulfed in pain and misery and therefore should be treated special above and beyond the rest of the world because the world DO owe them something for causing all that pain and misery.
c. The world is at blame for all the inconveniences and everything else that goes wrong in their puny little lives.
d. They are whiny, immature little brats.

But I kind of like emo music tho .. *ducks*

They once played some emo on the radio in the fridge at work some months back.

At the end of the song, four of us were miming slitting our wrists. I had trained them well.

Actually, at my store it's not the emo kids we have to worry about. It's all the junior-high kids.

One of the junior highs in town is about 6 blocks down the street from my store. There's a railroad yard in between the school and the store, but it usually isn't busy. The kids just walk on over whenever they have a half day.

The mayhem these kids pull off is unbelievable. They run around knocking things off shelves. They try on clothes and walk around with the clothes still on, so LP doesn't know if they're going to try to steal them. They steal stuff. They congregate in the mall aisles and make it nearly impossible for the customers who are there to actually buy things to get through. They take the wheelchairs and the motorized carts and go tearing around (well, actually, with our motorized carts you can't go tearing around. ). They hang around by the front doors and harrass people coming in to shop.

It is so bad that when the public schools have a half day, the time from 11 am to 2 pm or so will be a blackout period. Nobody can take breaks or lunches during this time because they have to be on the floor keeping an eye on these dumb kids. A lot of times we end up calling the cops to disperse the kids because they're just there to cause trouble and not there to buy anything.

Has your mall considered an age limit?

Irving Patrick Freleigh
09-03-2006, 01:19 AM
No, not that I know of. And even if they did, it wouldn't apply to my store. My store is not a tenant of the mall, it is owned by the company.

Which means the decision on imposing an age limit would have to be approved by corporate, and it would most likely go over like the proverbial fart in church.

I worked a few emo shows but the worse was Fallout Boy. It was during the springbreak meaning the place would be full of junior high kids and high school kids. The doors opened at 6:00, but there people already there at 2:00. This was a lot of people that we had to block off on part so they wouldn't cause a traffic jam. Add that up with the local alternative radio booth 20 feet away from me and I get one massive headache and a nasty temper. We had some new people that day and when they saw the crowd the look on their face was priceless.

I don't see why the fact that these kids were "EMO" is relevent. Who cares how they dress? They were kids being kids.....and that means acting stupid! They should not have messed up the beds or thrown a pillow! That was wrong.

And, I dress a bit emo-metalish.....lots of black, sometimes baggy jeans, sometines flares...t-shirts, tight shirts with a weird print.....big soled shoes, skate shoes...lovely tattoos (no tight jeans or goth though)....so I don't think it is stupid to dress like that. At least it wasn't a bunch of 15 year old girls with their boobs hanging out.:D

I am not an "EMO" kid though, not really into the music...more metal...or the "original emo" like Jimmy Eat World is good (yes, that band and metal are waaayyy different).

If you are trying to say that i'm perhaps stereotyping all emo's as being badly behaved, then you just stereotyped all kids as acting stupid, which isn't always true...

I have spiky hair, band t-shirts and baggy black jeans, bu this new EMO youth subculture in the UK is a bit silly tbh...

But like I've said before, if you feel the need to venture into the UK the emo's wont usually give you bother, but the dickheads in tracksuits will...

Well I guess I'll put in my :2cents: here. It appears to me that these EMO, Chavs, and Wiggers could immensely benefit from a good old-fashioned beating. From part of what I read here, read in the news and see else where on the interweb I'm very thankful my kids haven't turned out to such folks. I guess I'll claim the title of "Old Foggy In Chief" because this homey don't play that.

I've been advocating a bit of Wagner as a chav deterrent for years. It works wonders, because chavs hate anything that isn't instantly understandable and shallow. Anything complex and that needs a bit of thought makes them run a mile.

The kids who are emos this year will be something else next year. However, they'll probably be just as annoying. I do like this, though;

Damn it, now I have the Emo Song in my head! I'm an emo kid, non-conforming as can be, you'd be non-conforming too if you looked just like me... *shoots self*
Still, I shouldn't complain - I have dyed black, spiky hair with a side-fringe. Strictly speaking, I should now counter that with 'But it's OK! I'm not emo!', but I won't, because the hair is beyond reproach. Go go J-rock hair! :D
