View Full Version : The EPL thread

Ummm - I haven't noticed such a thread, so I thought I'd start it up, given I know of a few affiliations on here.

Also, where I work, I've a CW who foolishly goes for Newcastle, a CW who supports MU, a TL who goes for Arsenal, and of course, me, having great fun now that Rednapp has taken over Spurs.

So.. here's the thread... friendly bagging to be had, but also some nice home-team criticism!

For me... dump Gomez the keeper! He's crap, even if he is a Spanish international. But yay to Spurs for no losses last 4 games - even beating Liverpool, drawing 4-4 with Arsenal, and then thumping Dinamo 4-0 in UEFA!

Arenaboy, you still out there??

11-10-2008, 01:38 AM
Gomes is Brazilian. Not Spanish.

That said, holy hell at Spurs. Not too long ago I was busy laughing at your club being in the bottom. Newcastle on the other hand.

That said, another Chelsea win today. Ho-hum. Love the new football we're playing. Goal difference is quite nice to have too.

11-10-2008, 02:35 PM
Ah, yes, good call... Brazilian... don't know where I got spanish from, but I thought I read it somewhere... me bad!

But I know... worst start since 1912, and now managing to scrape it's way up... even over Newcastle now :D And now we're only 1 win away from top 10! (of course, so are a lot of other teams :p)

Chelsea... yeah ,well, it's what we expect from them, isn't it??? Now on top due to GD...

11-15-2008, 05:01 PM
Fecking West Brom. Lampard had a brilliant chance too.

11-15-2008, 05:03 PM
YOU can complain????

We just lost to Fulham! Back to 2nd bottom

And if WBA get up.....

Don't worry - Chelsea will win.

11-15-2008, 05:04 PM
Well when we have a frontline of Malouda and Kalou (Who frustrates me so much) I'm not holding my breath. And as I say that Malouda troubles Carson.

11-15-2008, 05:05 PM

11-15-2008, 05:05 PM
And who scores for you??? a fullback! HA! :p

11-15-2008, 05:07 PM
Hell of a goal, came out of nowhere.

11-15-2008, 05:08 PM
Our projector's lamp has blown again, so trying to watch this on a small telly about 15m away... not good!

11-15-2008, 05:09 PM
Boring boring boring Chelsea! :p

11-15-2008, 05:09 PM
trying to beat you to the post :p

11-15-2008, 05:10 PM
nice forward roll at the end

11-15-2008, 05:11 PM
As much as Anelka frustrates me, I'll take the 11 goals he's scored.

11-15-2008, 05:14 PM
I love Cudicini, but he doesn't inspire the same confidence as Cech.

11-15-2008, 05:18 PM
3-0! We're not done till it's 4-0!

11-15-2008, 05:21 PM
Still feeling frustrated by him?? and his 12

11-15-2008, 05:23 PM
Still feeling frustrated by him?? and his 12

It's just a while back he'd miss so many chances that I would wonder if Kezman was playing for us again. Now that guy sucked.

Amusingly, Kalou set up the second goal. :p

11-15-2008, 05:42 PM
Yellow but Terry knew what he was doing.

11-15-2008, 05:48 PM
Hey.. Anelka is the lead scorer for this season... what are you on about? (or areyou referring to prior seasons?)

naughty naughty Bosingwa!!

11-15-2008, 05:55 PM
Earlier this season. Would just miss chances left and right.

Kalou hits the poor bloke in row Z.

11-23-2008, 12:57 PM
What the...??? Nil all to Newcastle???

Gomes has once again misjudged a cross... and almost cost another goal...grrrrr!!!!

but 1 up...:D

11-24-2008, 03:03 PM
That Newcastle game was just one of those days. Joey's goal was correctly ruled off though. I suspect that the second goal (The one where Given went into the net) should have counted as he extended his hands before the ref got a glimpse on it.

Congrats to Gomes for not conceding a goal. :p By the way, did you see Behrami's miss on Sunday? Priceless.

Looking forward to the Champions League* against Bordeaux. Was a good one last time we played them.

*: This asterisk was put in there to mock the fact that we're in the Champions League and you're not.

Hey Sly:

You been to White Hart Lane? I'm hoping to take a trip to the Bridge in the next couple of years.

11-30-2008, 04:11 PM
No, I haven't. Only been to the UK once, and that was going to Bath and getting out of London asap.
Yeah, I did see that their actually looking to leave WHL for another ground! Larger capacity.

So - your take on the own goal? Personally, I don't have an issue with OG's like that, he's a defender, you defend. Sometimes luck plays it's own game and you lose.

Btw - did you see the Manchester derby, with Ronaldo's send off???

12-01-2008, 02:31 AM
Didn't see City-United.

That said, if I hear one more moron say Arsenal were the better side I'm going to lose it. Van Persie (I'd love to call him by his nickname but that'd get me in trouble.) was offside on that first goal and Kalou wasn't when he tried to score his.

Almunia isn't good enough to be Chelsea's number two. Why some people want him to start for England is astounding.

12-10-2008, 01:06 AM
Well we finally qualified for the knock out rounds for the Champions League. The sooner I see Essien and Carvalho back the better. Would love to see more of a Anelka-Drogba partnership. Just don't want to draw Barcelona though.

02-02-2009, 03:23 AM
Pissed about that game. Riley's a *******.

Oh, and scummy as it may be, I know Bosingwa's frustration.

02-02-2009, 12:58 PM
I ddin't see that.. end result?

Not happy with our guys (again!). Beaten by both Wigan, WBA and now Bolton! sheesh!!

at least we're in the final of the Carling... again...2 years in a row :D

04-23-2009, 03:44 AM
I'm bumping this.

Frustrating against Everton today.
