Soooooo exciting! I'm going to be camping this weekend! My favorite camping place: http://tinyurl.com/dhs6cg

Middle of nowhere, in the desert--hot during the day, freezing cold at night, miles from running water, no cellphone service...I LOVE it!

Not only that, but the eroded hills of the arroyo are *literally* hollow--over the years, water erodes through the hills, creating "mud caves." You start out entering a cave at the ground floor of the arroyo, and by the time you exit, you're standing on the top of the hill. It's incredible.

And to boot, this weekend comet Lulin will be passing by, AND Venus and the moon will be in conjunction! I don't have a telescope, but Lulin should be visible to the naked eye, and I have the zoom on my camera (10x optical)

Needless to say, I am EXCITED!

Sounds like a load of fun. I'd love to see the place.

My first, and only real caving experience was here at the Fulford cave. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=39.49167+-106.65833&sll=39.668297,-104.959394&sspn=0.005781,0.013647&ie=UTF8&ll=39.491159,-106.657376&spn=0.011592,0.027294&t=h&z=15). This sounds like it would be a bit more technical than your mud caves though. No real need for rope and tackle, but there is a lot of heavy climbing involved.

Enjoy your trip.

It's been ages...decades...since I went camping. I miss it. Here I am, surrounded by forests, and I haven't been camping yet!

Have fun on your trip. Don't forget the s'mores makings! :D
