then I may just walk right out of the swamp and never look back!

Why do I have these dreams? Is my subconscious trying to tell me something?

So this morning I dreamt I was at work, and needed to use the little boys room. It turned out there were only toilets in the little boys room, for some reason.

So I get in there, and all the toilets are occupied except for one, and there's a little boy washing his hands at the sink. I go for the empty stall and the little boy comes running up to me, saying I can't go in there because his underpants are in there.

:wtf: I look around and see no underpants anywhere in the stall. So I tell the little boy his underpants aren't in there and I have to go pee.

Little boy gets even more adamant and screamy that his underpants are in there and I need to let him get them. I tell him to go screw. Kid threatens to tell his parents on me. Oooh, I'm scared!

So I finish my business in the bathroom, wash my hands, open the door--and find my exit blocked by two of the most enormous people I've ever seen in my life. It turns out they are the little boy's parents, and they holler at me for being rude to their kid and not letting him get his underpants out of the stall.

I tell them his underpants weren't in there, so please let me out. They refuse. I try shoving the parents out of my way, with no success.

I then holler for security. Nobody seems to notice. One of the service desk people walks by. I call out to her, and she doesn't respond. Then my manager comes past and I call out to her. She turns to confront the enormous masses of parent imprisoning me in the restroom, and....

I wake up and decide I'm all done sleeping for the night. I really didn't want to see how that one would end. :runaway:

Wow. That's one hell of an anxiety dream.

At least there was a toilet... One was conspicuously missing in my dream last night

I had a dream last week where I just squatted in front of the front door, then blamed it on the dog! :p

I've spent the rest of the day trying to work out what the rest of my dream was all about! I'm still no wiser.

If that had been my dream, and the Manager had walked by, the Manager would have told all four of us, (The kid, his parents, and myself.) to go stock some shelves. And we would have done it. Then I would have gone outside and shoveled dirt into the sewers until all the carts came back. I would have locked the carts up, but saved one for myself so I could ride home in it. But it won't start unless I find the key.

The key ends up being another shopping cart. So I slide one shopping cart into another, and the shopping cart starts! It quickly flies up into the air with me in it, and I pick up some customers as passengers. I ask them where their goods are, and they tell me they left them in another cart. So I look up into the sky and see other carts flying around with their goods in them. I point, and our shopping cart vehicle flies closer until we can grab the goods from those flying carts and put them into ours.

Then everyone vanishes and I'm in a subway, and all of the carts are dead. A hobo vendor (Oxymoron?) behind a mobile shop stall asks me if I want a knish. I cry to him that all the carts are dead. The hobo vendor doesn't care. He shrugs, and continues to cook pigeons on a tiny flaming barbeque pit on his mobile shop.

Then I walk down some stairs, and end up back in the store. Naturally, however, I have my vest on and am walking to the counter to see who needs help. Who stops me but the hobo vendor! He wants to know where I keep all our pigeons. I tell him aisle 15 near the jaguar. He turns without saying thank you and heads toward the aisle and goes past it. I don't look back.

Then a small child RUNS up to me and dropkicks me in the shins, dropping me like a ton of bricks. She teabags my wrist, ($@#%'d up, man!) and crouches down near my ear, and starts making loud repeated beeping noises. Then I hear the alarm clock and wake up.

Everything but the first line happened last night in a dream.

Ok, I've finally found someone with dreams as weird as mine, LOL.

I keep saying on some of mine, if I could ever remember all of it start to finish (and if it made half the sense on awakening as it did at the time) I could sell it to MGM and quit working :-) I have murder mysteries, disaster films - lately lots of global annihilation (do we even want to know the meaning ). My dreams tend to be technicolour and very vivid, I can look around and see tiny little details (and sometimes be amazed I can dream that vividly, cause sometmes I know I'm dreaming). And it's not unusual to wake up from a particularly bad dream, go back to sleep and be dragged right back into same dream. I would love to consult a phychiatrist on what some of my dreams mean, but I'm afraid after they heard a few I'd be in a nice padded cell:roll:

Oh, I has all kinds of weird dreams about work. I think the most interesting one was the one where I was without pants and nobody seemed to notice.

Actually, I've had that dream twice. Once I was out on the floor stocking shelves while pantsless.

Then there was the one where it was about 1 in the morning, the store was about as busy as a weekend during the holiday season, I had just finished my shift, and when I got outside it was warm, windy as all hell and the tornado sirens were going off. :headscratch:

A hallmark of all my work dreams is something about the swamp is very different. Sometimes the floor layout is different, sometimes the backroom is different, sometimes the swamp is attached to a super busy mega mall instead of the strip mall it's attached to in reality, sometimes there are different people working there, once the store was close to a big buffet restaurant we all had lunch at.

I've never dreamed about work.

I've dreamed about school, different places I've lived, and I've had some pretty interesting high fantasy dreams, too.

The latest dream that I can recall involved werewolves, a psychotic vampire, and a bizarrely laid out house.

I haven't dreamed about work lately. (Although I guess working through differential problems in my sleep really does count almost as much as dreams about TAing). The ones I hate though are when I'm having to hurt/kill people in my dreams. I've been getting those again

Funny you should say that; I just had a work dream where the fabric store was all different, too.

In my case, the store was claustrophobically tiny; about 12' x 12'! The cutting counter was about five feet long, with three of us trying to cut and measure fabric on that tiny table, with dozens of customers jammed in there, screaming at us about the wait. While I went to put back fabric, I noticed one customer cutting her own fabric; big circles right out of the middle of the bolt!!! I yelled at her and demanded that she pay for that bolt immediately, but she acted like she couldn't hear or see me, even when I was right in her face screaming at her.

I hate dreams like that. You wake up feeling all angry and stressed and more tired than you were when you went to bed. :(

My dreams about work usually have A) the store being different, or B)the store being in a different location. The one that has repeated is that I'm closing, and I can't get the people to stop coming in. I lock the doors, and people still come in, and I freak out and end up there until the manager comes in in the wee hours of the morning. Oh, and I've dreamt that we got robbed, too. Of course, in that one, the store was on the hill north of where it actually is, too. Weird, weird work dreams!
