So, we got our Christmas week scedules, recently. Not only are most of us working Christmas Day, most of us are working a manditory 6-day work week!:(
And to add insult to injury, the Company has taken a "No vacation days allowed, this week" attitude!:(
I know: "Your lucky you have a job." If I say that enough times, maybe I'll believe it. . .

What kind of work are you in? Even my job is closed on Christmas.

Directory assistance. They never shut down, sadly!

My fiance is a baker. Usually baking starts at 4 am.

All Christmas week, he's baking overnight--meaning he gets out around 4 am.

At least you get to work your normal hours?

I feel for him! Yes, at very least it's my normal 10:30AM-6:30PM shift.

You and FoodLady both know that I can't be baked into a cake, right?

I'm human after all.

I can bake a cake, but I cannot be a baked cake.

:p

Now back to your regularly scheduled topic.

With enough rum I'll bet you're thoroughly baked...

Are you SERIOUS!? They're not even cutting it to just a few hours so you're not there all day?! :jawdrop:

my company is open 365 as well, and I work a 730 - 1300 day on christmas. however, I volunteered to work the day since the person who was originally supposed to work it (due to not having her kids that weekend) is out on medical leave. Also, we have suddenly lost another coworker because his father in India is seriously sick.

One more is out on vacation (until Jan 2) so the rest of us are working extra days. It's very confusing, but while we are open 365, not a one of us stays past 3pm. We're only open 0630 to 1500, and everyone knows it. Once 1500 rolls around, we're gone.

I don't get holidays, snow days, and am lucky if I get two days in a row off. Heck I couldn't even get ONE extra day off when I asked for it. Still want to know why my 'supervisor' can get a total of three weeks off without having earned a day of vacation time yet.

That's because your supervisor is a. . . supervisor!
A bit of good news: I at least have two days off New Year's week! Not New Year's Day or Eve, though.

It is possible that he was hired with the knowledge that he'd be off for those three weeks.
