We're getting a live moose at work.

I learned this today in the morning meeting, where all the Awesome Forest employees get together before work. The Ministry of Natural Resources is giving us an honest-to-goodness live moose.

Apparently this moose is tame, and has been wandering around the area getting too close to people. The MNR don't want to kill it, so they phoned us asking if we could give it a home.

He(or she, we don't know yet) will be a research moose, technically. We are going to try and figure out ways to cure different parasites that have negative effects on moose.

Still, I am so excited! If all goes well, he will be tranked and ready for pickup tomorrow! We have his paddock all ready!

Any suggestions for a name?

Mr. Jingles. :-)

When I went to Alaska on vacation, they told us that if we run into a bear, just roll into a ball and stay still and you would be OK. But if you run into a moose, run like hell because they will kill you.

Fourthed for Bullwinkle! Seriously, how can you NOT name a moose Bullwinkle? And then you gotta get a squirrel.

Hey, does that mean the next person to chime in for Bullwinkle is a fifth? If so, what kind? I'd opt for Chambord, but I don't think that's available in fifths. :D

Of course if it turns out to be a girl then Minnie works too.
