During the Christmas rush last year, we had a young lady in line to ring up half a dozen items, with her father tagging along. The lines were already getting fairly long, and I believe either somebody called out or was running late.

Well, she gets up to the counter, and she has I believe a dozen or so items. Her father is complimenting us on working as fast as we can, and being as polite as we are. We thank him, and he offers to buy Starbucks for the three of us ringing. We politely decline, something along the lines of it would be too expensive. But he insists, and we compromise on water.

He comes back with three bottles of ice cold water and some sort of danish. Now that was just the sweetest thing that has ever happened to me in retail.
