Life hasn't been so awesome lately. I was supposed to start a new job this month, but some other company protested our win of the contract so it's being pushed back. I can't move into my new apartment until I start the job because I can't afford to be spending my savings. I quit my crappy job (Which I hated but was easy and the money wasn't terrible). So basically I'm 25, living at my mom's place, no job, and my girlfriend lives in another country.

Last night I was talking to one of my co-workers for the last time and I was saying, "Dear God, I need a vacation!" 9:30am this morning, I get a phone call. I won a vacation. I get a free 3 day/2 night vacation at one of a few locations (I have to pay for airfare). I also get four vouchers for free airplane tickets that I can use all at once or one at a time that I can use on any airline company from any airport to 50 different locations (Such as LA, San Francisco, Vegas, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Miami, DC, London, Paris, Venice...). AND to put a cherry on top, they have negotiated super cheap rates (Like $65 a night) with major hotel chains (Like Hilton, etc.).

I just have to drive to AC with my "significant other", go to a luncheon (Free buffet!), and listen to a spiel about how great the company is and different things they have to offer that we can buy (But it's totally not like a time share thing...HAHAHAHAHAHA yea right). And I'm not under any actual obligation to buy anything. As long as we sit through it and listen to everything, I get the deal.

I'm thinking about giving two of the flight vouchers to my sister and her fiance as wedding gifts since I know they can't afford a honeymoon. The air tickets are fully transferable so I can give them to whoever I want.

That is AWESOME. Have a wonderful time! Oh, and hope things work out with the new job and the apartment quickly.

P.S. I hope you don't feel bad about being 25 and living at your mom's place ... I'm edging up to the age of retirement and doing the same thing, while retraining and hoping to heaven that I can actually find a job at the end of it ...

The only problem is my girlfriend and I have to be cohabiting (Which we aren't) and she HAS to come (Which living in Canada 10 hours away, is kinda tough on short notice). I don't know if I'll be able to do it.
