  • has anyone tried the surface rt?

It's on for 350 right now and I'm considering getting a new tablet. I originally wanted full windows but I was thinking that honestly this would do what my current one does but better. I have an ASUS tf101 and while I do like it there are things that drive me nuts. not having onboard usb (surface rt has it), only 1gb of ram so the comic reading apps like to crash when they hit big page (surface rt has 2gb) having to find windows alternatives to basic stuff (sense a pattern here) the browser will just randomly close when it hits webpages (that's a try it and see thing there)
after accidental warranty, 10% discount and sales tax it hits about 450.

I was just wondering if anybody has one and what the issues were. for the record I've seen windows 8 and on a tablet I'm ok with it. I know you can only have IE but it has been setup to support flash directly and the system comes bundled with ms office.

Personally I recommend the nexus 7, as it has a good rep overall and good specs, and it hits about $230. I think it only has 1 gb too, but...

honestly I want windows, it's just so much easier to be able to use it. to be honest I'm probably going to wait, back to school time will see some interesting new things probably, what I would really love is one of those flip around laptops with a 10 inch touch screen and not have it cost 1000 after all is said and done.

I have a Surface RT, since right after it came out. I love it. It is great for writing, reading the internet, twitter and apps. I have the nook app and do most of my reading on it now. I don't have one the covers, but I have a wireless keyboard that I can take with me. It won't run legacy type programs (photoshop, Auto CAD, stuff like that) but it does come with office and office works really well on it. There are a lot of apps on the app store now. I can watch netflix on it, amazon prime. I have a number of sport apps and comixology looks stunning on it.

The Surface Pro, about double the price. That is a laptop replacement. My husband has one and loves it. He hardly uses his desktop now. It can run anything a computer can. He ran WoW, The Old Republic, Auto CAD, Photshop etc on it.

        I highly recommend them.
