    double murder across the street *Warning - graphic!

    boyfriend heard the shots. i was upstairs listening to youtube favorites and doing statistics homework. turns out a guy across the street from us gunned down his neighbors in their driveway. social services has their kid now, and cops have the shooter. scene is still being worked... i can stand in the window and watch them go at it.

    this is the second multiple shooting near us this year. i heard the first one, and bf got the victims because he happened to be working that night. a teenage boy had tried to kill his father and brother, then shot himself in the head, splattering his brains on his sister and then falling on his mother, knocking her to the floor and breaking her leg in the process. the whole family went in with gunshots, shock, and the broken leg.

    and now this tonight? sheesh...
    Drive it like it's a county car.

      He actually lives in one of the nicest and most beautiful towns on the East Coast.

      I'm really stunned; that's kinda bizarre.

        it's incredibly bizarre... the guy killed his neighbors because of an ongoing feud...

        ...over a trashcan. a fucking trashcan. he shot them, then stood over them and shot them each again -- in front of their 12-year-old son -- because of a trashcan.

          This type of BS can happen anywhere.

          Back in 1977 my cousin was raped and brutally murdered, and this happened in Bismarck North Dakota.

          The waste of air who did that finally croaked a couple of weeks ago, 36 years after he did it.

            I live in small town PA, and (back about 15 years, or so, ago) I had one of my newspaper delivery customers commit a murder-suicide.

            Weird thing was that they were still on my route for more than a week after the event.

            But yeah, that kind of thing can (and does) happen everywhere.

              Doesn't matter where you go; shit happens. I consider our town fairly quiet most of the time. But then when I was in high school one of my classmates (he was even my lab partner in science) drugged an 8 year old little boy, stripped off his clothes, duct-taped him to a tree, and sliced him up, all because the kid was annoying him. That's some pretty fucked up shit right there. He ended up in jail for life without possibility of parole at age 16.

                Agreed. My wife lost one of her best friends as a child when the girl's dad came home from work and shot his entire family, then killed himself. Sometimes there is no warning for shit like this.

                  Oddly enough, just two nights ago there was a shooting a block down the street from my house. My sister and I heard six gunshots, and then sirens. The man lived, and it was a target shooting.

                  You can't feel safe anywhere, it seems.
